I feel we have not talked enough about how amazing this acoustic Riu Riu Chiu is.

It’s now two months after Christmas and I’m STILL listening to it. SOOOOOO good.

I think acoustic David may be my favourite… and Spanish David is, well, muy bien, si? 😉 (That’s it for my Spanish btw)

How he can take the same song and do it so many different ways, each of which is amazing in its own way (hello, Little Drummer Boy), baffles me… in a good way.

And some of this one sounds as though he’s just riffing, making it up as he goes along, gliding along a winding lazy river of pure molten gold… MORE, I need MOOOOOORE!!!!!

A @DavidArchie picture is worth 1,001 words….

So I’ve noticed this photo keeps popping up whenever a concert notice is tweeted from David’s account.

Why this picture, I ask myself? Random choice? David’s choice? Why use this particular one? Goodness knows, it’s tough to get a crappy shot of the boy.

I’m thinking the choice of pic was deliberate. That it’s telling us a story.

The story of a fair-faced lad looking off into the distance at a future as bright as his teeth. Planning his next gig. Or Slovenian smoothie.

That hint of a smile. Is he imagining what the future holds? Adopting two rescue pups. Naming them yin and yang.

What was going through his mind? “Gotta show off my best side… heh, as if I have a bad one.”

No, he’s clearly pondering Life’s Big Questions. Why are we here? What are we meant to do? Can I avoid VIPs indefinitely?

Maybe he’s thinking of us. About our supportive ideas for his career. And if restraining orders send the wrong message.

The shirt must be symbolic too. Staying true blue. Fresh and sharp. Top button loose in a wild, untamed move that few could pull off with such panache. “Biebs may give a guided tour of his tattoos,” he seems to be saying, “but let ’em guess at my birthmark shaped like Kanye!”

And he’s standing next to rough hewn wood of some kind… a wall? a door? Is he telling us that for every door that closes another will open? Showing us the contrast between the weather-beaten past of A.I. and the glowy glow glow of the new, independent Archie? Or is he simply reminding us to slide down the banister of life with the splinters facing the right way?

Is head is held high. Hopeful. Brave. With a hearty dose of hair.

Life is good, my friends. Life is good. The Archuleta tells us so.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

They hypnotize and mesmerize me somehow. I don’t know if it’s the awkward length or the fun-furry legs or the interesting colour or the stance (as if he just lounges in Bermudas on the regular) or the wonderment of no socks or the beach but ya.

Sneak peek of David’s producer interviews (not really)

David1 In David’s blog, he mentioned trying to find the right producer for his new music. Our crack team of investigative bloggers here at SAz (basically me) has unearthed a very nearly almost positively possibly fictional transcript of that very interview process.

Interview 1

David: What kind of music do you like?

D: What is the best kind of parka?

P: Say what?

BREAKING NEWWWSSSSS!!!!! DAVID BLOGGED!!!!!!

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a blog.

I have to admit, it has felt kind of nice. Not because I don’t like connecting with all of you. But more to stop worrying about what everyone else thinks. I haven’t posted as often on Instagram and Twitter as I would before, but that has also felt really nice as well. Not because I don’t like sharing, but it’s because I have a tendency to get caught up in what everyone thinks about what I’m doing. I’ve learned to enjoy the moment and the people that I’m with, rather than think “Oh yeah, I’m supposed to be showing everyone my life and how great it is.” and “I’d get more followers if I post more of this.” Or “The more of my face in the photo the more likes it’ll get.”

… I don’t intend on giving up. I’m trying to find the balance of living a life that’s meaningful to me both personally (in my quiet and simple world) and career-wise (as a performer and musician.) Each aspect involves 2 principles: (1) loving people and (2) keeping that spiritual connection with God.

Okay, I think I’m psychic… I put up this post this afternoon while David was likely spell checking his blog and looking for pictures of himself on Google images (I’m sorry but the way he illustrated his blog with those carefully placed photos and yin yan icons makes my heart melt into a puddle of bubbling goo).

This blog could not have come at a better time. His silence coupled with Kari’s was seriously messing with my mind. Did he call Gina back and say he changed his mind AGAIN about wanting to do this?? Was he working furiously on his new music?? Or training to become a professional snowboarder?? I may be psychic but my powers have limits.
