ICYMI: Latest @DavidArchie interviews for #FaithInMe

Posting these recent David Archuleta interviews here in case anyone missed them — two videos and one print piece.

So great to read and hear David talk about his journey of self-acceptance and love. We’ve all loved him from Day 1 and that’s only grown as time has gone by, so well done, David for catching up to us! 🙂

Seriously though, he talks about it being a “miracle” that he’s come around to feeling so compassionate and loving toward his whole authentic self and I, for one, could not be happier for him.

Watch & read and please share your thoughts in the comments!

Interview #1 – Pop Crave

“I had a tremendous chat with David Archuleta about his coming out journey, experience on American Idol, becoming friends with Jennette McCurdy, and his new single, ‘Faith in Me’.” — Austin Ashburn, Pop Crave

Interview #3 – Billboard

p.s.

This interview isn’t for Faith in Me, but I’m including it anyway, because I can. 🙂 It’s a pre-concert interview for David’s performance tonight with the Ensign Symphony & Chorus, with clips of their rehearsals… I hear a snippet of “Any Dream Will Do” at the end! wooohooo!

Thanks for putting these all in one post. Really happy for him ❤️

  2. TOfan says:

Added another interview to the end of the post… a pre-concert Interview for his symphony show in Seattle tonight.

Watching this after the Pop Crave Interview, it was cool to hear him express his renewed “mission” for his music. What a beautiful heart he has. 😍

  3. Pepper says:

Such great interviews, thanks for posting them here. So happy for David too and yes…what a beautiful heart he has. ❤️ Would have loved to have seen him with the symphony in Seattle, wonderful concert I’m sure.

I thank you for collecting these here, Deb. I thought I had seen or read them but I had not! Where have I been?

Anyway, I was at the Ensign event last night (just last night? surreal!). The theme was “Hope in the Northwest” and it featured orchestral/choral pieces by several PNW composers. I’d never heard of any of them. Three pieces also by Baroque and early 20th century composers.

But David was the main event. He got by far the loudest applause, hooting, etc. David went from “Numb” (which I have always had a hard time feeling is hopeful) through a few of his own songs, and a couple of others. He about lost it with “Be Still My Soul” and I wondered whether it spoke differently to him now that he’s out. He ended with “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me” which was a complete surprise to our group because we had not managed to get a program. I still wonder how that was chosen. He was in fine voice and this concert reinforced how glad and proud I am to be among his OG fans. Nobody else like him, nobody else commands the stage the same way, communicates so well the emotions.

There were a lot of empty seats at Benaroya Hall; I wish I’d been able to fill them with you.

    • TOfan says:

Oh my Ms B., I wish I could’ve been in one of those seats too!! ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for sharing about the concert!! David with an orchestra is truly something special!! And that is such a beautiful venue!! 🥰🥰🥰

I imagine singing so many of his songs & previous repertoire must bring up so many emotions for him now, some empowering, others poignant and maybe painful.

But so happy to see him embracing all of himself like this. 😍😍😍

  5. TOfan says:

Scroll through for some beautiful clips from David’s recent suicide prevention private event. 2nd to last is the beginning of You Will Be Found from Dear Evan Hansen. Omigosh, in tears just from that clip… oh to hear the whole thing someday! 😭😭😭

  6. Janey H. says:

There’s a new man in town, that’s pretty much all I’ve got. I cannot and I mean I CANNOT WAIT for the Christmas tour! All the changes that have taken place in David’s life have started to show up in his music and I am so curious as to what a new and current set list will include. I won’t even bother to guess or hope for any song in particular. It’s all good.

  7. Another Occasional lurker says:

David’s Instagram comment section is on fire regarding his new People interview.
For a shy guy David is letting go with a tsunami of personal information.

  8. Kizzi says:

In March 2008, I was gobsmacked by David’s artistry. 14 years later that only intensified. He is geniunely courageous, inspirational and staunchly true to himself. He’s faced such huge barriers both internal and external, and, amazingly has shared that journey with the world. His poignant emotional vulnerability pleated with his superhero-esque physical and mental strength is breathtaking to behold.

It is a true privilege and delight to have been an observer and attendant of his journey to date.

He is choosing his path and destiny. The only boundaries will be those that he chooses.

It’s “Just David” anytime and all the time.

Love, hugs and kisses to all at SAz. 😊😘❤️❤️❤️
