As a little Happy V-Day gift from me to you, I’m posting these pics that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before … why? … because I am shocked and amazed that anyone convinced David to wear those shorts-slash-almost-capris. They hypnotize and mesmerize me somehow. I don’t know if it’s the awkward length or the fun-furry legs or the interesting colour or the stance (as if he just lounges in Bermudas on the regular) or the wonderment of no socks or the beach but ya.

I also want to send out a big Happy Valentine wish to all y’all … whether it’s your comments here or your private messages/tweets/emails to me, I know you’re a lovely, funny, kind bunch and you make it fun for me to play in this virtual sandbox.
And as you’ve likely noticed, David fans come in all shapes and, um, styles… from those who are sweet and generous to those who sit smugly back in judgement to “the fans of many faces and screen names” to others who want to stay under the radar… what amazes me most is that no matter how different we all are, we share one amazing thing in common… great taste in music. 🙂

Oh, just love the map of the “introvert’s Heart”, I’ve been to that country of Animal pals, hiked on those solitude mountains, canoed on that Alone time lake, done tours in that Region of Hibernation and made many visits to that town of On Line ordering, lol. Love it, perfect and very apropos.

Just thinking back to David’s blog and since he’s a stats guy, must make it extra hard not to get caught up in measuring follows/likes/views etc…. is anyone going to watch the Grammy’s?? I will, usually at least one great performance … plus quite a few Canucks nominated, including one my favourite albums of the year, “Healer” by Alex Cuba, nom’d for Best Latin Singer-Songwriter… a category I’d love to see David in some day!!

I tuned in for Adele too, Kiz, and was so disappointed that of all the artists that I’d love them to fritz the audio on, they messed up on her song??? #grrrrr
Belated Valentine’s appreciation back to you for helping to keep the interest alive with funny and engaging posts, especially when David is so quiet. However, we may not all be worthy of your praise in maintaining great taste in music as I can see myself starting to lose interest, while still wishing him well. With so many amazing voices—-Sam Smith, Adele, Ed Sheeran, and even not so great voices, making music that I love to hear, David is losing his luster. The unique thing was his likeability combined with the Voice, and it’s hard not to fade away without the enthusiasm-boost of a live performance available to me. I’m left tiptoeing around heavy-handed “inspiration’ which affects my enjoyment of him.
Oh well, speaking of sitting in smug judgement, here’s an amazing performer some may have missed because of dismissiveness towards AI: LaPortia, who knows how to do vulnerability and inspiration and faith without a touch of preachiness.
Sorry to hear your interest in David is starting to wane, cc halo. You’re not alone, I know others feel the same way. I admit that I wondered how I’d feel about David’s music when he got back, I certainly haven’t loved everything he’s done even before he left. *cough* SBL*cough*
So I was overjoyed that I loved Nunca Pense so much, ADORE Numb, and I frequently have He Showed Me How on repeat. So I’m back in, hahaha… but I know he’s figuring things out professionally and personally so I give him some space, which gives me some space, and perspective, I think.
I agree with you about La’Porsha’s talent, I’ve only tuned in a bit for this season of A.I. but saw her audition and duet with Fantasia and she is a real standout. Do I need to seek out her songs on YouTube and replay them the way I did with David? No. But there are a lot of other artists I like who I don’t feel compelled to do that for but I buy their music and would go to see them live if they were in town. (Ben Rector and First Aid Kit are two examples, both of which were ignored by the Grammys btw, so there you go.).
