Lately, the only songs that get almost as many plays as David’s on my iPod are Ms. Joni Mitchell’s … David has said he’s a fan of her music and if he ever covers any of her songs, I’ll will likely pass out from the bliss, but it’ll be worth it. 🙂

All this U.S. election hoopla took me back to the last time our neighbours to the south were voting for a new chief… nothing to do with Republicans versus Democrats, all about David Archuleta, lol.
I remembered a hilarious “If David were president” list on Snarky Archies written by @therealnewangel (possibly others, but I can’t remember anyone else tbh) … the original seems to have disappeared into the Internet ether, but with the help of @Archugeezer and @janey79, here’s what was pieced together:
If David were president…
… the Pentagon would get remodelled into a heart-shape.
… Mount Rushmore would be renamed into Mount CRUSHmore.
… I’d join the Secret Service.
…. no need to change the name of Camp David.
… David’s picture would be on the dollar bill and the value of the dollar would skyrocket in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, etc.
… he’d still take time to text his fans and the texts would go something like this:
“Hey everybodyyyyyy, it’s President Archuleta hereeeee. This most powerful man on earth thing is keeping me crazy busy but it’s soooo fun haha. I’m learning sooo much and getting to visit a lot of cool places. When I was in Honduras, I got to visit some of my mom’s family and we had a fun time playing video games and just hanging out and I ate like a ton of food. I’m still working on my second album, but I have to fit it in between meetings lol. Well, that’s it for now. I’ll talk to you guys later haha. Peace.”
… he would disappear for days and when finally found at Brooke’s home would say “oh, oops, I thought this was the White House everyone was talking about, haha!”
… Jive would finally fix his MySpace.
… sometimes he’d reach across the aisle just to give the partisans a high five.
… he would sing Imagine to all of the terrorists and they would drop their weapons. Instantly.
… Happy meals would come with a David action figure, so they’d actually be HAPPY.
… when David would eat HIS chocolate bunnies for breakfast, he’d have pancakes with it and say “Imma eat you, boo” “you look so delicious, little mama”
… The President’s Cabinet would contain Nutter Butters.

After the lovely Archugeezer’s comment on the last thread about this upcoming non-DavidArchie Christmas, it really struck me how spoiled we’ve been for the last four holiday seasons.
In December 2008, the Jingle Ball/Jam thingies decked our halls (along with the last time David was in Canada btw, but who’s counting 🙂 ), in 2009 CFTH was released followed by a full Christmas tour, then in 2010 the incredible MoTab extravaganza.
In fact, sitting there listening to David sing The Cat and Mouse Carol … “As she cradles with care, little Jesus sooo fair, this baby, the Lord’s chosen ooone” … tears streaming down my face, I remember feeling the true meaning of Christmas right through to my corpuscles.
And then last year, we got to relive it all with the MoTab CD/DVD and then another aMAZing Christmas tour. (ok, yes, David basically cancelled Christmas itself for me last year after his big news, but leading up to that, I was pretty dang holly jolly, lol.)
And in between all that, we had all those skating specials, Orla Fallon Christmas, the FOX New Year’s live performance (which he RAWKED, did he not?!), miscellaneous tree lightings, Charice duets, and I’m sure I’m forgetting a few more.
Sigh.
So no live stuff this year but we sure have a treasure trove of holiday memories to keep us going, right? RIGHT???
Help me out here, guys, how will you cope This Christmas?

“The music video, released last August 22 only get 182,256 views as of this writing. This is quite disappointing compared to the other music videos released on YouTube. David Archuleta‘s new video is actually heart-warming and deserves more views. I personally believe a talented artist like David Archuleta should not be put to waste.
“Everybody Hurts is originally performed by R.E.M., and was released on the band’s 1992 album Automatic for the People and became a hit single in 1993. The song was voted “the most depressing song of all time” according to a poll conducted by The Telegraph.” (LOL at that last line 😆 )

Does any of @Char_Charizard’s reaction to listening to BEGIN. for the first time seem familiar? 🙂 … “fingers crossed I don’t die”
You know how when you first listen to an album, one or two or even three songs grab you right off the bat? But then, after you’ve listened to the whole thing a few times, lived with it a while, other songs float to the surface and it’s like you’re hearing them for the first time? No, just me then? lol
Seriously though, that’s what Don’t Give Up has been like for me. I did like it right off, but it wasn’t in my BEGIN. top 3 … Broken, True Colours and Somewhere Only We Know held those spots.
But the more I heard it, the more I wanted to hear it, the more I kept hoping it was the one that would come up next on my BEGIN. shuffle. I don’t know if it’s because I do worry too much and it’s nice to hear someone tell me to rest my head, or because I need the encouragement not to “give up” or just because David Archuleta’s voice sounds extra lovely in this song, but it’s gotten under my skin and I just love it now.
I especially love the combination of David’s strong, earthy voice with Libbie Linton’s ethereal indie vocals floating in and out … makes me think of something in nature … like a breeze wafting through a redwood forest or something. 🙂
At first I thought her verses were like his conscience whispering encouragement to him, but then I saw someone on Twitter say her words made them think of what we fans wanted to collectively tell him …

I’ve seen a couple of David definitions from Urban Dictionary pop up on Twitter lately so I checked out a few other possible “Davidisms” and here’s what I found (my personal favourite: “If he doesn’t win, America is deaf.”) 😆
