Okay, so I’m liking David in the helmet. Surprised he whipped his shirt off, but he’s full of surprises these days. Good thing his name and EP title give the boy some coverage.

Can’t tell from this if he’s grown back his scruff or not.

We always knew he was made of unicorns, rainbows and pixie dust, so nice to see Mr. Unicorn there.

I’m thinking there’s an Onion in there somewhere but haven’t found it yet.

A shield and a club AND a sword… wow, this guy is totally ready for VIPs.

I’m thinking this cover gives us some clues as to what songs will be on there.

“Orion” might be a song title… or he could just be naming each of the EPs in the series after a different constellation… methinks he’ll skip Uranus.

“Gemini” would be a cool song title… about twins, maybe … one who voted for Archie the other for Cook, and it all ended badly. Maybe not.

The “Taurus” bull on the cover is pretty intense… but with long eyelashes like David… not such a great song title… what the heck rhymes with “Taurus”?

How is everyone liking the pic Team Archie’s using to promote the new shows?

I know it’s not new but it feels like the new David.

The “I’m so mature my brow is furrowing just thinking about it” David.

The watch-wearing guy so focused on it getting late that he sings about it twice, David.

The “man, this flu shot hurts but I’ve got to get to VIP” David.

The “let me show off my man hands” David.

All looking over his shoulder, “You talkin’ to ME??” David.

So April 21st we get the new single plus (hopefully) some kind of video clips from his Alaska TOFW appearance.

There’s been lots of speculation about the lyrics in the Up All Night snippet (HERE). This is what I hear:

New EP in May: Spring #Onion!

I was on the road with my husband when my cell phone dinged.

Reception had been wonky, but I got a quick glance at the exciting news: David Archuleta is releasing an EP called Onion!

Onion? Er… OK.

Personally, I think Onion kinda stinks as a name, but it’s David’s EP and there must be some kind of deeper meaning going on there.

Nevertheless, if David is singing, I am more than happy to support his Onion, or any of his other vegetables for that matter.

I wonder how many songs we will get with Onion. We already know two titles and there are leeks all over the Internet about other possibilities:

Numb (from trying to think of a name for the EP)

Up All Night (with heartburn)

Shallot Samba (comeback of the onion dip)

Blind Date at the Salad Bar

Little Rap Scallions (hip hop)

I Weep at Your Touch

An Onion Ring for My Baby

Apparently, the country song was rejected (I’ve Got Tears in My Ears from Lying on My Back and Crying Over You)

And now I hear that David will tour with the new music! I bet the merch table will have the good stuff.

Who doesn’t want a T-shirt with a giant Onion on the front? (Children’s sizes feature chives.)

So, spread the news!! Tell your friends!! I did… What? It’s not Onion? Really?

It’s Orion?

So, do you mean Orion, like that hunter in Greek mythology? And Orion like those stars that can be seen all around the world?

Orion, eh? That fits. Perfect.

Cool.

And so completely embarrassing.

I guess Onion doesn’t even qualify for a constellation prize.
