My super-serious interpretation of the #Orion cover

Okay, so I’m liking David in the helmet. Surprised he whipped his shirt off, but he’s full of surprises these days. Good thing his name and EP title give the boy some coverage.

Can’t tell from this if he’s grown back his scruff or not.

We always knew he was made of unicorns, rainbows and pixie dust, so nice to see Mr. Unicorn there.

I’m thinking there’s an Onion in there somewhere but haven’t found it yet.

A shield and a club AND a sword… wow, this guy is totally ready for VIPs.

I’m thinking this cover gives us some clues as to what songs will be on there.

“Orion” might be a song title… or he could just be naming each of the EPs in the series after a different constellation… methinks he’ll skip Uranus.

“Gemini” would be a cool song title… about twins, maybe … one who voted for Archie the other for Cook, and it all ended badly. Maybe not.

The “Taurus” bull on the cover is pretty intense… but with long eyelashes like David… not such a great song title… what the heck rhymes with “Taurus”?

Anywayyyyyys, what do you guys think???

p.s.

Here’s a sneak peek of the original photo shoot… dude’s been workin’ out. 🙂

This post is so good, haha. “A shield and a club AND a sword… wow, this guy is totally ready for VIPs.” LOL! Yes, he’ll be fully armed and ready and yes….he’s been workin’ out alright, ha.
I do seriously really like the EP cover, a bit of a departure for David and something new and very nice. A new sense of David, a new sense of what’s to come I think. Good things up ahead!
Orion, I’m ready for you…..and if there is an onion in there somewhere…..I’ll be ready for that too. 🙂

Remember onions have layers soooo perhaps there’s more peeling to do to find it 😉
Glad to see the Easter bunny has been included. I so want to be at that Easter David/Nathan concert 😢

This!! “We always knew he was made of unicorns, rainbows and pixie dust, so nice to see Mr. Unicorn there.”

Thanks for sharing your humour with us TOfan……. makes the waiting bearable!!!

Always the modest one. Notice where he placed his name. haha

Well, you can go to Wiki and draw all kinds of comparisons and speculate the symbolism, as I just did…but then I got to the word Archer…duh!! (why it took me reading the actual word to draw that conclusion…I AM off my game!)
    lol…..but…if I know David…tho’ it might have some wink/nod relationship to that…probably some deeper meaning too. ;). …still pondering…🤔

TOfan…once again you had me LOL.

    Another great post Deb!
I read from one of Joanie’s links that the cover art is a Baroque painting. David is being artistic and economical as usual.
As to meaning of it, i don’t know. Could reflect his love of nature, feeling of battling forces in the world, having had sense of being defeated but awakened and fighting again… who knows? Those don’t seem to go with “Up All Night”. Maybe collection of his thoughts at night looking at stars??? We will see!!

  8. amb4da says:

Although, I think it’s another constillation that is an archer, right?!…but somewhere on Wiki one of the descriptions for Orion was archer….

lol…obviously….I’m still speculating…and basically, makin’ up stuff!

    • TaterZen says:

One little known fact about Orion is that he was a bounty hunter hired by the Gemini brothers to hunt down invading onion smugglers. This effort to rid the galaxy of confusion was backed by a coalition of friendly unicorns.

(I’m with amb4da–the best part of speculating is makin’ up stuff.)
      😀

Sagittarius is the archer of the Western Zodiac. Also Uranus is a planet, not a constellation. But perhaps he’ll be cycling through heavenly bodies instead. Oh, wait…that’s what they’re called. I honestly meant no pun but now I think I’ll go #badfan in the corner.

      Please continue speculatin’ up stuff.

Was curious about the choice of Orion also. So, thanks to Wikipedia:
The Babylonians of ancient times called Orion, “the Heavenly Shepherd”,
in northern Mexico, the 3 stars in Orion’s belt are called the 3 Marys or the 3 Wise men,
and Orion was referred to in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth as the Swordsman of the Sky, and we all know how much David likes Lord of the Rings.

Or, maybe he just liked that picture. But, it’s fun to speculate.

  10. lynnella says:

I’m really surprised that someone hasn’t photoshopped a picture of David and put it on that picture’s head (hint hint).
