I feel 100% blessed to have witnessed this amazingness tonight… to quote birthday girl Refnaf, “It was like being in heaven.”

I’ve been dreaming of the day I’d get to hear Shine A Light live and oh em gee it blew the roof off the place!

.
I never imagined Postcards in the Sky would make me cry but cry I did… ethereal, celestial, sublime.

Please do check out the lovely and amazing Tina’s channel for more vids.

Just when you think David can’t possibly improve on performance perfection, he proves you wrong… wow.

He just looked so HAPPY up there … I think that was the best part of all.

What did you guys think???

P.s.
The way the choir rocked out to Up All Night was a blast… my face hurt from smiling so much… and David was beaming ear to ear, you could tell he got a big kick out of it.

Pps
According to the program, the Music Director had been trying to get David to sing with his orchestra and chorus since before his mission… he and his wife became huge fans during Idol… pretty cool.

Ppss
Loving all the comments from members of the chorus and symphony who were blown away by his talent… and just him. 😍😍😍😍😍

Loved Postcards In The Sky…you’re right it was celestial… almost expected angels to fly around dropping postcards on the audience. 🙂 PS – is anyone else in love with the Whoa-ohh in this song?

Wow, what a special and fantastic concert! What fun and what beauty in the songs and the arrangements. Love the symphony and the chorus uniting with David in his songs. Shine A Light was amazing! BSMS was so beautiful made me tear up just from watching the video. All the videos I’ve seen were incredible….incredibly good! Thanks TOfan and Tina (and others) who took videos, so, so appreciated.
David’s voice and his songs deserve to be shared with a symphony and chorus, just like the greats. He IS one of the greats! I couldn’t help but think while watching the videos that this would have been wonderful if it was filmed and then maybe shown on PBS.
Happy for all who were there and had this special experience. Definitely was special for David and obviously for the wonderful symphony and chorus. A lot of rehearsal must have gone in to this.
Thanks so much for sharing, would have loved to have been there!
Oh and Happy (Belated) Birthday refnaf, you had a very special and memorable day!

Great recap and videos. Thank you for sharing TOfan. Reminds me a bit of seeing Davie sing with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He never fails to give a heart felt and authentic performance. I love this milieu for him and the back story of the director wanting him since Idol days…so wonderful to see appreciators of art and music acknowledge David’s artistry. I am, as always, struck with the thought of how lucky I am to be a fan!

    Amazing Yakima vids… thanks, Janey!!!

2 or 3 days later and I’m still out of words. No words.

Beautiful words from one of the arrangers! Thanks, Tina! 😍😍😍

This is totally an illegal recording that was posted on youtube by a fan in the audience BUT this is one of many pieces i did for David Archuleta. Thats my music backing him up. Look at how happy @davidarchie looks. I’ve watched dozens of videos of him performing but have never seen him quite like this. Months of dedication and analyzing and listening for that one note that was off paid off 10 fold. Was it stressful? Heck yes it was! Was it worth it? You BET it was worth it seeing him enjoying his music in a new way. Would i do it again? Yes. I would dedicate my life to writing for artists like David. I sacrificed many many hours and events and even performances because i felt so much joy putting music together for David Archuleta. I would do it all over again and never expect anything in return because this is what i LOVE to do. To help people find new ways to express themselves through music. Some people do this because they want to get famous or be seen in pictures with famous people. I do this for love. Seeing how happy David was hearing his very own music presented to him in a whole new way. Seeing him light up was worth every minute and every tear i shed when i would get frustrated that something didn’t sound just right and i fought to find which note it was. I yelled at my laptop countless times when something would sound off, and people would laugh because of how committed i was. I was married to this music, for free. If i could, I’d donate my life to this cause because it’s what i believe in. My dream came true when i was given the assignment to arrange music for David Archuleta. Would it be cool to hear from him personally what he thought of the arrangements? Sure, it would be amazing. But i think i already know what he thinks of them just by the smile on his face and the spirit that overtook him on stage. It was all worth it. All the school. All the forced performances. All the struggles and fights with Sibelius. It was all worth it and i would do it all again without hesitation. Thanks for this opportunity @davidarchie you made dreams come true 🙌🏼 I hope that some how somewhere in the future i have the opportunity to provide for you again.
