Preorder vocal perfection: 2 @DavidArchie songs

BREAKING NEWS:

********

Click to preorder the magnificence that is David Archuleta through Pledge Music.

Yay! Finally got the Pledge preorder thing to work without crashing my system! At $7 Canadian for 1.5 David songs and some sort of video, in which he likely says a quick “Thanks/Gracias” and flashes a peace sign), totally worth it! (Counting the duet as the .5 πŸ™‚ .)

If you’d rather go David-style thrifty and get the duet alone, you can now preorder on iTunes as well.

How awesome is it to go to the Mothership and see both TOUR DATES and MUSIC downloads?!?

Sidenote: I’ve heard some rumblings on Twitter worrying where the $$$ will go.

All I have to say to that is, I buy Jason Mraz music, even if a lot of that $$ supports vegan farming etc, which I don’t personally support (nothing against it, just not my thing). I pay to see Mark Ruffalo films, even if a lot of that $$ supports anti-fracking, which I admit know nothing about. And I read J.K. Rowling books, even if she supports Scottish political causes that I don’t, because, well, I’m not Scottish. Other fans of theirs probably boycott them for their personal passions, which is entirely their right. Although, full disclosure, I did unfollow Ruffalo on Twitter because that’s pretty much all he tweets about.Β If David starts singing Death Metal, however, all bets are off. (I guess I shouldn’t open with “all I have to say” if I’m going to go on and on. πŸ™‚ )

Anywaaaays, onto more important matters … what do you hope for that mysterious acoustic track? Please share….

I’m on your side with this “all I have to say to that is….” . Loved it! If the money from this is going to anything, my bet would be on a humanitarian type thing (whether sponsored by the LDS Church or some other organization). David is all about giving to others. β™₯

And, while I would love to hear a new, original song as the bonus I don’t think that’s what it will be (gotta wait for that new album). If it’s a Christmas song…. any will do — except “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas… not my favorite (and I don’t care who the singer is … sorry if it’s someone’s fav πŸ˜‰ ).

    Four more days!!! β™ͺβ™«β™₯β™ͺβ™«

  2. refnaf says:

Eeeeep I chose 2!! A David original of course (but I don’t think that will happen) or Falalalalala which he also wrote and it would be sweet to have a recording of it!!
Having anything new to buy suits me!

As for where the $$$ goes…. I do think about it….but David is LDS so if that’s where it goes so be it. Your reasoning makes sense to me TOfan. I do not make note of where other artists money goes, so why For David. I believe in a more open gospel message….. I can’t see the need for evangelism to other faith groups like the LDS church does… But that is my opinion only.

    1. This Christmas, all jazzed up and fun. A live version somehow.
    Refnaf, same.
One more thing. My son dropped by in between delivering pizzas for some
class of a treat and when I asked him what his belt signified, he said it was a pokemon
thing. (David’s typical ball cap, half red/white.) Kids nowadays.

Oh, another thing. I unfollowed Mark Ruffalo for the same reason lol. The best people to follow aren’t real celebrities, they are real people who happen to be funny and are writers. Or trying to be writers. Like Adam from Canada, eh Deb? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  4. marin says:

I know an Adele cover is not likely but that gets my vote because I can just hear him sounding terrific doing it. This wasn’t on your list but I would love a professional recording of Good Place/Let It Be also. It would send such a positive message to fans too, I think. That David is in a “good place”.

Betsy too cute about your son and his Pokemon belt, can just picture that. I wonder if David has one. πŸ™‚

  5. Kizzi says:

Anything David records is, always, a treat given the absence of David music these past four-ish years. I am so excited and whatever it is will be sam-frantastic…. πŸ˜€ Of course new David music is the ultimate dream and any newly recorded David music be it new or a cover is the ultimate treat.

As far as where the money goes, so far David has had a good track record with Child Fund, Rising Star Outreach, etc. His purity of intention is a thing of beauty and to be trusted, imho.

Love ya SAz. Happy Holidays. I’m off to a Caribbean Cruise with Mr Kizzi who sends all his regards (his words were “big kisses” and “warm hugs.”) 😘

  6. Grammyj says:

I happily spent the $5 to get The Prayer and the bonuses. I’m thinking that David might do his album pre-order this way too like Cook did. It will be interesting to see what he will have for perks to buy. Wouldn’t we love to have a private David concert in our backyard! I guess I assumed the added acoustic performance will be a Christmas carol. I’m hope for “Oh Ven, Oh Ven”.

The money from the sale of the song/video will go to production costs, the amount that iTunes and Pledge music gets, and the remainder to David’s and Nathan’s businesses and most likely some to charity. Like Deb said, some artists have charities that aren’t my cuppa tea but I buy from them anyway. I really don’t see the problem. David can spend his money as he sees fit. At least we are not supporting his drug habit lol.

    • missbianca says:

The bidding war for a private David concert in one’s own backyard would be INTENSE. Oh, wait, they set the price within PledgeMusic. Okay, the number of people refreshing frantically hoping to be “the one” would kill their site.

    • TOfan says:

“At least we’re not supporting his drug habit” ROFL nicely put, GJ

  7. TOfan says:

Backyard David concert???!!! You guys think big, I love it!!! I’ve posted about this before but Ben Rector held a contest where fans entered by filming a lip-sync video for his latest single (Brand New, awesome song & album btw) and the prize was a backyard concert and he live streamed it… DAVID, GET ON THAT, Y’ALL! πŸ™‚

  8. TOfan says:

So David clearly read this poll and decided to set us straight πŸ™‚

    • missbianca says:

On FB and IG, he gave a hint that it’s in Spanish. Hey, I LOVE Riu Riu Chiu and this would only be the 2nd version in my playlist. Looking forward to the difference between “studio” and “acoustic.”

      • Anonymous says:

I also like Riu Riu Chiiu very much. Off topic but heard Tori Kelly was nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy, and she is very talented. Because if their Star Search connection first thought of David and wish he would get one.

  9. peppertara says:

Good post, I did pre-order from both places and I enjoyed doing that, was great to be able to actually pre-order his music (and Nathan’s) in this case. Gotta love your poll TOfan, was really tempted to choose…A new song called “Tollbooth Betty”, lol. I can imagine the groove and jazzy vibe it would have, haha, loved that one.
Well, it looks like we will be getting an acoustic version of Riu Riu Chiu, should be wonderful!
As for spending my money on his music, of course I am happy to do that. I don’t worry about whre it goes. I like to support goodness in many forms and David’s voice is goodness to me. I don’t have to be a follower of his faith or agree with everything it represents to see the good in him and how he delivers his own ‘goodness’ through his music, his persona and remarkable voice. Like the examples you stated, everyone has their own causes, faiths that they will choose to put some of their money in to, that’s their right. I loved this from Grammyj too… “At least we are not supporting his drug habit”. Haha, so true.

  10. peppertara says:

Actually, reading David’s words again maybe it is not necessarily Riu Riu Chiu. Could be another song that he sang in English and perhaps he meant that he is now doing an acoustic Spanish version of the song? We know how he is always full of nice surprises. Either way, I know it will be lovely. πŸ™‚

    • TOfan says:

If it is Riu Riu Chiu it will be interesting to see how much more feeling etc. he puts into it now that he’s so much more fluent in Spanish. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

And now I learn “The Prayer” will be available TONIGHT 10 pm MST.

    Omigosh, I am suddenly verklempt!

    • missbianca says:

Yesssssss!!!!! I wonder what snow conditions will be like between Seattle and Boise in March?

      Need a concert buddy?

    • missbianca says:

I saw that “Morrison Center” and thought, “Thank heavens it’s not the Knitting Factory.”
