Seriously though, was not prepared for how loooooow his voice can go now … #likebuttah

Snow now falling here on SAz… snow falling in this clip… coincidence? I think not. He totally copied us. But hey, it’s Christmas, so all is forgiven, Mr. Snowchuleta.

So what do you guys think??? (I am stoked it’ll be available on iTunes… call me crazy but it will be exciting to actually have David music we can BUY legitimately, you know? Just me? okey dokey).

Made me sad to think that David was feeling down this morning… and pretty remarkable that he turns it around by shifting the focus off of himself and toward helping others.

He clearly does this a lot more than we ever hear about … in fact, this was the first comment I saw when I saw his IG post:

grammeruth I’m alway so impressed with what you are doing – you don’t just talk you are a doer – back in Oct you visited my Nephew, Alec Gustafson in the U of U hospital and sang for him. I’m not sure what or if you had a connection but it was so sweet and really lifted his spirits. I know it’s a long shot but we are having a benefit dinner in Davis County to help single moms with education on April 16th – we would love to have you drop in @davidarchie

I ADORE the way his voice sounds in this little snippet!
Gosh I am ready for this!! And to be able to actually buy it!! Woot!!!

  2. peppertara says:

Ha, the title of this made me laugh, lol…Burl Ives….well, not quite but boy, do love this snippet. Love David’s lower register (as well as all of his other registers). This lovely little snippet is such a teaser. Thinking this will be a wonderful equal opportunity voice, music shared rendition?
I completely agree about buying David’s music. I really makes me very happy to be able to purchase his music! Thrilled it will be available on Itunes and David and Nathan do sound pretty amazing together. Coming soon!

  3. marin says:

May I join in the excitement! He does sound different but as you say #like buttah. “Love David’s lower register (as well as all of his other registers)” I laughed out loud at that peppertara, it’s true!

  4. sweetonda says:

Couldn’t agree more about that lower register! December 10th is marked for a special iTunes purchase that is long overdue! Yippy-kiyay! Next a whole new album!!!

  5. refnaf says:

So tell me this…. Is it totally crazy to have a snippet on repeat???

  6. refnaf says:

I am nuts ! Now his voice is gone from the clip????

  7. TOfan says:

Conspiracy theory #1: Nathan heard the clip, had a meltdown ‘cuz he’s not on it and hired a hacker to remove the vocals.

Conspiracy theory #2: David heard the clip, had a meltdown ‘cuz Nathan’s not on it, took a quick online course from “Hacking for Dummies” and removed the vocals himself.

Conspiracy theory #3: The vocals only existed in our collective minds.

  8. TOfan says:

So bizarre… you can still hear it here… or is it just in my head? πŸ™‚

  9. karenkid says:

So beautiful, can’t wait to add this to my collection! Music on the market – YAYAYAY!!!

  10. tawna21 says:

BEE-YOU-TEE-FUL!!!! How many days till Dec.10th?! **wishing for time to pass quickly is not a good thing at my age! πŸ™‚

  11. TaterZen says:

He’s back with a bowl of fruit and trying to be all nonchalant about the clip that killed us. #resumesrepeats

  12. missbianca says:

Late to the party as usual–I am much relieved that @DavidUniverse had a copy of the snippet, otherwise I wouldn’t have heard those gorgeous, low tones at all. When I try the VEVO version I just get nasty static (and visuals).

Played Christmas music yesterday from a very old iPod that hasn’t been synced since before CFTH. No David in the mix! Tragic!

    • Martha says:

The Voice has a copy that you can hear also. Probably our friends over there are the ones who captured it when it came out. That is their custom.

  13. Kizzi says:

So everlastingly beautiful. Can’t wait for the 10th. πŸŽΆπŸ’ΏπŸŽ‰ Woo to the Mega Hoo❗Think I’ll run over to Dufflet’s and get a celebratory treat. πŸ˜‰

I am tempted to leave this message on David’s latest IG post:

David, I know you’re technically a grown man and we are all prone to our ups and downs but I’m sorry, I am having trouble accepting you were feeling “a little down and just small” this morning. That is not acceptable to me … for, in the words of Tumblr queen Tina, “you are a precious porkchop who must be protected at all costs”… just yesterday we were all flailing over a nanosecond clip of you singing The Prayer sounding like the star of the bass section of some heavenly choir and thousands of days were brightened instantly but now you’re feeling down??? That does not seem fair. You’ve brought so much joy to so many you should be able to skip the down days and live in Willy Wonka’s chocolate dream factory year-round. But I know you’re a sensitive soul and that’s part of what makes you such a brilliant artist but it saddens me to think you have dark days just like the rest of us. ‘Cuz you’re special. That is all.

    Too much?

    • TaterZen says:

I seriously had the same kind of reaction to David’s post, although I could not possibly phrase my feelings about it as well as you have. Still, I was kind of sad that David was feeling “a little down and just small.” It’s like he’s normal or something.

  15. refnaf says:

    Sad David is sad.
It is good to know that he is “normal”
Being sad right now when you see all the stuff that goes on in our world..Definitely sad ….
TOfan!! That IG response is so too much, lol, but I love it!!

    • Grammyj says:

I agree 100%. David shouldn’t be sad, but alas he is human just like the rest of us. But it is so David-like to look to the positive and try to shine a light to others. I loved reading all the comments to his Facebook and instagram post. it was such a help to others. We all need to shine a light in this dark world.

  16. Kizzi says:

I liked his thoughts. We all have times when we feel small and down. Takes great courage and self confidence to share. Kudos to him. I found it to be a great opening remark that leads to sharing a homily of faith and encouragement to help others which he apparently draws strength from. *don’t throw tomatoes please & thank you* And, yes, I am admittedly a bit odd. Lol. πŸ˜‰

    • tawna21 says:

Great thoughts Kizzi…. and I agree with you >> “great opening remark that leads to sharing a homily of faith and encouragement to help others which he apparently draws strength from.”

    • TOfan says:

Tomatoes?? No way, beautifully put, as always! And GrammyJ, I also enjoyed reading stories peeps shared on FB and IG, hope he did too. πŸ™‚ cool to see the Nandito Ako NYC reunion!

  17. TOfan says:

Wait, I’m confused… does this mean it’s not going to be available on iTunes??

  18. peppertara says:

Ha, well as soon as I saw the tweet I ran to preorder too. Had to, this should be beautiful and I believe in David’s tweet/message it said the extra track would be from him, sweet. I think that is the case. This is certainly worth it. It did say a delay regarding Itunes so maybe it will still be available later, not sure. Really looking forward to this! Holidays, beautiful music, beautiful voices, we sure need it in this world.
