Our office is full of trendy, fashion-forward young guys (they all have David’s haircut btw, lol), and no high, dark socks & shorts for these guys. Any examples people usually point out to me are usually high-school slouchy guys who are far from trendy.
I’d have to agree with this fashion blogger:

I like this thought by the blogger, “Could it be that in today’s world, to be UN-fashionable IS fashionable?” David could put out NEW MUSIC and even be fashionable. And this week’s megamillions is up to $64 million. Just sayin’.
Ha ha. Hey, David…”You can’t simply wear black socks with shorts and think nobody will look at you funny..” But we wouldn’t look at you funny if you were singing one of your new songs. You could wear plaid, buttoned-up shirts with a scarf in the summer too!

I work in a college town and college students do wear the black athletic socks with shorts. I made a point to look one day and was surprised at how many I saw wearing them. I still prefer that socks with shorts are white or sandals are even better. Of course, we aren’t talking about socks lol.
