Glorious vs Son of Man smackdown: When David Archuleta sings agaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin

Confession: The first word that popped into my head when I saw this was “fanboy” hahaha.

Seriously though, I just got to hear “When the Son of Man Comes Again” thanks to a most generous, thoughtful, ninja person … (you know who you are and you ROCK!!!!). And yes, of course I will be buying & gifting it like crazy when it eventually, someday is available in my igloo neighbourhood.

I admit, it did not grab me in the beginning but as the song builds at the bridge and beyond and he takes off with it as only David can. Wow. Over time, I actually think I’m going to like it even more than Glorious. Why? Because it’s HIS song, you know?

So him, from beginning to end.

Kind of cheesy and predictable at first. Plodding along. Lulling you into a sense of complacency and eye-rolling and then BAM! Seat belts click. Gears shift. Throttle engages.

“Wait, this wasn’t quite the yawn-fest I thought it was going to be… whoa, did not expect him to… Ohmyheck what was THAT??? Now it’s over?? What do you mean it’s over???? *replays*”

But who cares what I think. What do YOU guys think??

I played it for my hubs and, no word of a lie, this is what he said, “He should contact his fans pretty soon and tell them what his plan is” hahahahahaha

And it’s charting! (The idea of David climbing the country charts is blowing my mind right now! 🙂 )

  1. TOfan, so good to see you. This is the best way of seeing people for awhile longer I guess. Hopefully my memory will stay intact!

Yes, your husband is music to my ears so to speak…. “He should contact his fans pretty soon and tell them what his life plan is hahahahahaha”. Cheers to Mr. TOfan!

‘Glorious’ is lovely and reminds me of songs that could have been sung over these past few years. Just my mood for the monent. Like in the earlier works of the Beatles, songs don’t have to have huge lyrics to be favourites.

I think we are on the same train with When the Son of Man. It’s predictable at the beginning, although I do have a special love for how David sounds on the first verse. Things don’t realllly kick into the amazing level til the bridge and final repeat of the chorus. Better be hanging onto your trousers then tho because wow. Around the 2:30ish point to the end. It’s so signature David to buiLD a song to the end though. That little stinker.

I enjoy both songs and am just so happy to hear his voice singing “new” things. I must say that I’m so so so excited to hear the new stuff from him next hear though.

P.S. Can I just admit that I enjoy church tweets so much more when David includes a selfie? It’s ok, Jesus already knows I’m shallow like that. We have an understanding. ;p

Remember the time you “stopped blogging” for a while? lolz jokes on you 😛 Guess David had other plans! LOL

So I like them both… I think I like Glorious better though. It’s my jam right now. But I’m a fan of this country/gospel song in general!

Reading old posts – LOL at Tim the toolman! Hahaha and that last post about David undoing his top button might have been the funniest thing I’ve ever read! bahahahhaha

When I saw that picture of David at the Conference Center, I thought,
David, becoming a light to the World: Check.

I love them both but slight edge to When The Son of Man Comes again cause David also wrote it!
