  3. roxfox says:

    Is this where I apply?

You’re going to keep us entertained for 2+ years, right? (no pressure;) Don’t stop!!!! Love how you get the giggles out of me 😀 ❤❤

  4. Trish says:

  5. Heidijoy says:

So much fun!! I originally wanted to be the Hair fluffer but now I think Hand Moisturizer would be very nice!! ha!ha! People there are loving just being around David as we all know so well-but three full weeks-Can’t even imagine!!
    Thanks Tofan!!!

Would love to be there for the Concert!!!

  6. abanana77 says:

    Too fun, TOfan! <333

I think I could handle being the Heimlich expert. Or the hand moisturizer. Or, you know, the Halo Adjuster. I'm sure I could manage to work the overtime into my schedule 😛

  7. KathyH says:

Lesse, I’m good at emotion and food testing. Applyin’ for those now. BRB, gotta take a speed-MD course for the jobs that require doc skills.

TOFan, you are making things so much fun. Thank you again, times a thousand. (Again.)

  8. dangitdavid says:

Lmao….sign me up for all!! I’ll make it work….multi-tasking here I come!! 😉

  9. PandasMama says:

    Oh TOfan,
How did you know I’ve been seeking employment? (Really, I am.) The commute might be a bit of a problem, but for David …. I must update my resume to reflect these new job descriptions. All of the positions sound quite intriguing except maybe the Knob Tuner one. I already sit in front of a monitor all day reviewing pics of D, so one of the others might take me a little more outside of my comfort zone. (D wants us to try new things.)
Here are my qualifications for my top choices:
1.Eye doctor- I believe my latest poem “In These Eyes” speaks for itself as to my expertise in this area. If you haven’t reviewed it yet, go here: http://cacophonyvsharmony.blogspot.com/2012/01/in-these-eyes.html
2.Hand Moisturizer- I didn’t faint when I finally was fortunate enough to shake those magnificent hands the last time D was in Dallas, so this job could be right up my alley.
3.Extreme Emotion Team- I am an expert at being emotional; just ask my husband and kids. I can cry at the drop of a hat, and usually bring others to tears with me.
4.Umbrella Tilter- I have 22 yrs experience as an umbrella wrangler, working with my photographer husband. Those beasts can be a problem on the beach in the wind so experience is a must here.
5.Covert Ops: I excel at devising costumes for Halloween and school productions. My sewing machines are at the ready. Just say the word.
6.Heimlich Expert: I am fully trained in the administration of the Heimlich maneuver. Boy Scout Leader FTW.
7.Fan CPR- I am CPR trained and would really like to apply for this position, but after viewing the pic you posted for this job, the CPR needs to be used on me. I’m dying here. (But it’s a happy death.)

    Thanks TOfan, you’re the best!

    • dangitdavid says:

Hahaha….I love this!! It’s perfect 🙂 And the job is yours….you’re fully qualified!! Heck, I want to hire you 🙂

      Hahahaha….still giggling here!! Love 2, 3 and 7 🙂

      • PandasMama says:

I’m open to any and all job offers in reasonable driving distance of Austin, TX. Of course, for David, I would consider driving a little farther.

  10. nanaweize says:

This sure made me smile today…Thank you and I will for sure be working on my resume!

  11. peppertara says:

OMJ TOfan, thanks for all the smiles and giggles, you’re the best! What fun, haha. I think the Fan CPR is very important, Josh will need his fans to stick around, lol. As for me could definitely see myself as the hair fluffer or halo adjuster, just love that fluffy hair and could see D singing while halo being carefully adjusted “I can see your halo, halo”…..:)
Great post TOfan, ’tis the stuff that dreams are made of! LOL. Hey, if all the best positions were taken I would gladly accept knob turner. 🙂 Still laughing.

pandasmama, great comments and I did read your lovely poem “In These Eyes”. You really have the knack. Just loved it!

  12. Sunny says:

These are hilarious!! I will apply for all of these jobs! Someone sent a tweet on twitter to send people to this site. Love it! I’m not Canadian but I’m from the U.S.

  13. sweetonda says:

TOfan, I’m loving this! You are hired for the Fan Entertainer!

No one wants SPF Technician? Okay, I’ll take it! Who needs more benefits than just THAT ONE! 😉

I could die being a very happy archutech with this job for that person. 🙂

  14. PandasMama says:

Did anyone else notice that when you mouse over the last photo, Fan CPR, that it is entitled “smellingsalts”?

  15. Cadthu says:

Hey! I had dibs on hair fluffer!! I will be holding auditions for assistants though and then scheduled training sessions for Running Hands Through Hair 101.

This made me lol! Great post 🙂

    • TOfan says:

Yes, you are right, Cadthu! You do have dibs!!! 😆 I have a feeling those training sessions will fill up fast! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  16. refnaf says:

Too much fun, TOfan, I would be an excellent halo adjuster…. I think…

  17. MunkFOD says:

TOfan! This is awesome! I’m smiling so hard my cheeks hurt! LOL! This made my day! Thanks!

  18. awestruck says:

Man-o-Man TOfan you are hilarious… and I really needed a laugh today, lol

  19. joujou says:

Just discovered your site today! You have my attention! I will be visiting often, LOVE the humor!

  20. poof says:

Looks like I am late to the party and all the jobs are taken! You may have missed one job, though. It looks like someone was in charge of fixing his belt,, right behind him. I guess I wouldn’t mind working behind the scenes………:)

    You are too funny! Thanks!

  21. bluebar says:

I think David would apply for the CPR job!!
Remember, during a show, when he offered his water bottle to a fan who felt faint or was being crushed?
It’s in his nature to want to help. Sure he kills us; but he also rejuvenates!
He “knows how to save a life!!”

  22. TOfan says:

    bluebar, very good point! 🙂

…and I somehow missed this wonderful comment of Kizzi’s at the end of the last thread, so wanted to bring it over:
Hi Everyone. Been lurking only lately.

Wanted to share something my grand daughter discussed with me the other night, her own epiphany. She has a Life Skills class in High School and they are studying the topic of “Transitions” in life and the skills needed to navigate those transitions successfully.

She equated her recent lesson in her class to David’s own “transitional” announcement and then herself and me making a “transition” due to that announcement. Smart gal. She then shared a quote from the 2008 Stanford Commencement speech given by Oprah Winfrey (yes, I know some of us aren’t Oprah fans and we must agree that she is once smart, successful, world-savvy lady):

Difficulties come when you don’t pay attention to life’s whisper. Life always whispers to you first, but if you ignore the whisper, sooner or later you’ll get a scream.

And her comment about this as a David fan was: “David heard the whisper, you and I Grandma, we waited until it was a scream.”

“Well,” I mumbled quite lamely as I picked my jaw up off the floor, absorbing her epiphany, “at least I heard the scream.” Talk about out of the mouth of babes. Kids just keep getting smarter and smarter. 😉

Here’s to a successful, joyful, happy, healthy and prosperous transition, to David and to his fans. Both now and when he returns to music. May his and our wishes come true, transitions, whispers, screams and all. 😀 😀 😀

    • Heidijoy says:

Wow! Out of the mouths of Babes for sure. Ah! yes the whispers were there but denial helped us wait until we heard the screams!!
Thanks for sharing Kizzi and Tofan!

  23. refnaf says:

“David heard the whisper, you and I Grandma, we waited until it was a scream.” Wow!!!!
    Thanks for sharing this (((Kizzi)))

  24. refnaf says:

kkkkk The new job is mine…. I can be the 4th angle cause Abanana said I have a halo!!! MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. I can be Bosley! 😛 haha xD

  26. OhMyJosh! Why did it take me so long to get here?! Hoping the “Hand Moisturizer” position is still open! I’d go for the Heimlich Expert but thinking that one is reserved for a ‘youngster’ who can get away with it! lolol This is SO much fun! Thanks for the laugh once again TOfan!

  27. “Here’s to a successful, joyful, happy, healthy and prosperous transition, to David and to his fans. Both now and when he returns to music. May his and our wishes come true, transitions, whispers, screams and all”.
Just scrolled up & found this ~ Kizzi..this is beautiful. I join you in those wishes for David’s fans all over the world~♥

  28. Elaine says:

    Haha I love it!! :))

  29. Elaine says:

Can I apply for all the jobs? Lol :))

  30. angelofdja says:

WOW Kizzi! I am in awe of your grand daughter’s wisdom! Smart young lady! I will join in wishing David all the joys and successes you have wished for him!
Although the wait will be hard, I’m imagining a magical, musical journey sure to amaze and astonish like never before.
In the mean time, I’m recently unemployed. I could, and would gladly fill any positions remaining. 😉

  31. Kizzi says:

TOfan, thanks for bringing over my comment. ‘Halo job’ would definitely be right up your alley, 😀

Nesquicus – I can definitely see you as Bosley. Guess that makes David Charlie–but Charlie was never really visible, lol. Maybe a bit of a metaphor for fandom over the next 2 years…a voice heard periodically from afar.

All these pictures and plethora of ‘Davidness’ coming from Asia is mind-boggling…and he looks like he is basking in the center of it all.

Just wanted to share a little bit more of what my Granddaughter shared with me (taken from “The Way We Were”) on this topic of transitioning looking at all the recent publicity and pictures:

    Scattered pictures,
Of the smiles he leaves behind
Smiles he gives to one another
    For the way he is
Can it be that it is all so simple now?
Or will time re-write every line?

If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we? Could we?

    So it’s the laughter
    We will remember
    Whenever we remember…
    The way he is…
    The way he is….

    Sweetness!
