Remember this story about the Twilight Wish Foundation (which fulfills the wishes of seniors in need)?
“Among the most challenging wishes-in-the-works are someone who wants to perform with the New York Metropolitan Opera, and someone who wants to be serenaded by “American Idol” finalist David Archuleta.”
Well, that someone was an 88-year-old cancer patient named Phyliss. And before David caught his flight to Manila — like he had nothing else to do — David took the time to grant her wish to hear him sing …
I’m not 100% sure how it all came about, but I think some warm-hearted fans alerted Sunny Hilden about the story, and she and David arranged through Twilight Wish to visit Phyliss and make her wish came true.

Phyllis’ wish came true today!! She loved meeting David Archuleta & we loved meeting her & her family.♥♪♫ …
He sang Phyllis’ favorite song, Ave Maria. They had no piano, so I brought one I’d lent David during Idol:) …
Phyllis is amazing: 88-years-old, no wrinkles, full of inner light like the photos on the wall of her dancing♥☆ …
We went to her! Thought from the article she was in Pennsylvania, but she was only about 40 miles outside LA:) …
Phyllis had meet & greet for Pomona, the Grove 09, couldn’t go due to health – she’s got his CDs, book:) …
Phyllis: “Come here, David, I want to show you where your picture is…” (their family album!) Preciousness …
And of course, he didn’t think to mention it… Makes you wonder what other wish-granting David gets up to that we don’t hear about. 🙂

He travels an additional 40 miles… to sing for one!
Beautiful story!! David is so sweet. I lost it when Sunny said that she showed him her Family album with his picture in it!! Oh! Dear!! Thank God for twitter and the internet and David for granting this wish before leaving town. Of course he knew this when he did his video but he of course kept it private. So glad Sunny shared it with us!! ……..and thank you Tofan for passing it on.

I went back and read the original story (here) and it kinda broke my heart how simple some of the other seniors’ wishes were … from a simple trip to the zoo or spending time with a dog to getting help with dentures. One lady wanted a headstone for her late son’s grave. 😦

Thanks TOFan! This story is who David is! love it so much! David has been doing this all his life! Its the way he came and I think the way he will always be. I am sure their are many visits he makes that we will never know about. That’s what makes it all so magical.. so wonderful… so inspiring. Hope I can be more like that!

Aww…..just love this, another heartfelt act coming from David. I remember reading about this lady’s wish and I had a feeling it might materialize, somehow, so glad it did. David you are so kind. This is another lovely organization and I love how people of all ages are so inspired by David. He is one very loving young man. I’m sure it meant a great deal to this lady….how special! David is all about the heart. Everything he does just wraps itself around your own heart. ❤
and TOfan, yes it is so heart touching to read the stories about the wishes from these seniors. A very wonderful and worthwhile charity to support. So happy that Phyllis had her wish fulfilled. Thanks to David and to Sunny. Just awesome!
