How awesome are the Filipino fans????? I watched the uStream of the hero’s welcome Team Airport gave David this afternoon and couldn’t stopped smiling. (If you missed it, the amazing Abrra captured all 16 min. of it on youTube HERE.)
And at 4 a.m. (4 a.m.!!!!), David’s two lovely costars were also there to fight over him meet him for the very first time. Forget Downton Abbey, their fangirling (and David’s flustered adorkableness) could’ve been a miniseries all on its own, lol.

OMG…the welcome is amazing! Love, love, love the Filipino fans! Is it any wonder he loves to go back there. Love the greeting with his two co-stars, sweet. The videos, photos are wonderful, many thanks to Abrra for getting the Ustream on youtube, awesome. The fans and their loving dedication is just an incredible thing to see. ❤

=> The host, when asked “Why did you choose David?” answering: “You couldn’t ask for a better leading man that that.” Yes!!!!
=> David recording songs before mission to be released while he’s away. Yes!!!! David: “I didn’t just want to leave my fans (waves) ‘OK, see ya! I’m leaving everything!’ –I want to make sure I have something to still give to my fans… I already have certain projects I’m trying to plan for when I get back.” Yes!!!
=> Talking about what type of mission he’ll be doing:
“I’ll be doing what you see of those guys that you see on the bikes with the little ties… it’s very focused on service, serving the people, loving your community, and being able to teach and it’s very much about sacrifice as well. Because you know for me it was very hard, because it was a lot to have to sacrifice, but for me that’s my personal reason why I wanted to go, is because of what you sacrifice and what you learn from sacrifice… so I feel like even though this will definitely not be the easiest thing, I’m leaving a lot of things I love, not having my family around, not having the career in music, those secure things in my life, I know that I’ll grow a lot in a way that I haven’t been able to yet, which I’m really looking forward to.” ♥

After the general press conference, a very special session was held, involving fans who participated in the online TV5 interviews plus the movers of Team Airport and international bloggers. This impromptu forum was made on the specific request of David Archuleta, who was once again overwhelmed with the show of support of his Archies. The session was short and sweet but a mighty nice touch. Niiice move Mr. Archuleta. Thanks TV5 for making the fans important.

So much goodness in the last couple of days! I think David’s fans are all smiling…..a lot these days. Press conference was awesome, lots of great questions and wonderful answers. I think I always knew that David would never, ever give up music and he would be back with more but it is so good to hear David talk about his plans, his music, his fans. Sounds like things were pretty well thought out….by a very thoughtful David. Geesh, when he talked about his mission and sacrifice….pretty much had me in tears over that. Gosh David, you are so endearing.
He probably didn’t talk about all this before because he tends to think we are all just not dying to hear this stuff, lol. He did say he’s not the best at keeping his fans updated with details!
Hope ‘Josh’ has a fantastic time in his new actor role. The song he will record for the series sounds really lovely, listened to it in Tagalog by another singer. Wonder if David will sing it in English, a sweet love song. 🙂
