In case you missed it, here’s David Archuleta’s insta live from yesterday. It’s got everything! A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer… on the floor. 🙂
The question in Spanish is “What does it feel like to be gay?” And David’s reply (paraphrasing courtesy of the lovely Donna) is:
“It is all I have known, so it just feels like me. I don’t know how it feels to be heterosexual, though I have tried many times, for most of my life, until I published my message last year. I tried to deny it and tried to get married to women three times but they always said, ‘you are so cold.’ They wanted a connection but I couldn’t give that to them.”
And in case you don’t get a chance to read through all the comments, here are some beautiful, eloquent replies from David. He speaks so purely from the heart like no one I’ve ever seen. So incredibly proud to be a fan of his, more now than ever before. (And, like, I was a pretty big fan before, hahaha.). The first bunch are his reply to this comment 😥 :
“My heart breaks for you. Yes, God is full of grace, but He doesn’t forgive perpetual sin. We all sin, it’s whether we act on that sin. And not everyone is meant to marry David, so you may be one who is meant to just exist how you are but do not act on your sin and do not marry. I will continue to pray for you.”

Beautifully put, David, just beautiful. ❤ ❤ ❤

And if you want to hear the two singing parts again… because David… here you go:
I wonder if David has any idea how incredible of a writer he is? What a beautiful essay disguised as a reply. I hope he’ll write another book someday. He has much to say.
He really does, Janey… I hope he’s taking notes for a future book.
Thank you so much for sharing this, I have read it over and over and it is just so eloquent,so beautiful!
I wish that he would share it publicly so it could reach more people.
I was thinking that too, Sheila… or if some media outlet or other celeb shared it if D’s too humble to, lol
It is so nice to see David smiling so sincerely. I’ve started 5000 sentences and really, he says it so much better than I can. The answer to “What does it feel like to be gay?” showed such freedom. He is showing much more comfort with being himself than he was able to after he first came out.
Um, David, your evergreen is not a pine, it is a fir.
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Such insights and sensitivity and vulnerability pleated with courage and strength. The title of David’s first book “Chords of Strength: A Memoir of Soul, Song and the Power of Perservance” seems so apropos to this juncture in his life. So, yes, another book would be awesome and inspirational.
It is so joyful to have the opportunity to see David being himself and taking steps to share himself with others. Just David, all the time. How freeing, how inspirational, how beautiful and joyful!
“Just David, all the time”… love that, Ms. Kizz! ❤️❤️❤️
After the Idol tour show in San Jose I remember writing I started to miss David even before his 4 song set was over, and now that same feeling is all too close – I’m missing the blonde even before it’s gone:((( So beautiful while it lasted and so grateful Lois Fort captured it for all eternity (check his ig if you’re unfamiliar).
