.
You guyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyys.
I seriously considered ending my post right there because I have no words for tonight.
None.
What follows may not actually be words but mere animal shrieks and primal screams from the extraterrestrial embodiment of beneficence that is Master David Archuleta.
I don’t know if it was the hometown love, the collaborator support or the full moon, but David took himself to new places tonight in Franklin.
He certainly took all of us to new places.
I wept during Say Me, but I can’t articulate why because it bypassed my brain and went straight to my heart.
I set up my phone to take a video just because I love the song and before I could consciously recognize the wonderment that was happening, my eyes welled up with tears and I was a mess.
Forevermore was named a favourite by peeps who’d never heard the song before and Higher Ground. Oh My God. And I mean that as an actual prayer of thanks. Here’s a peek at just the ending alone captured by the lovely and amazing Pastel.
Anyway, more later when I’ve had a chance to process all this but just had to share.
Feeling so blessed right now to be a fan of this remarkable human.
And to share with all of you what that means.❤️❤️❤️❤️
The songwriters and producers must’ve been in awe last night at what David unleashed live… I know I was.
And I’d like to extend a personal thank you to Trent Dabbs, who was there tonight, and who co-wrote some of my favourite songs on Postcards in the Sky (Numb, OTIS, Say Me) for talking David off the ledge of possibly quitting music, and instead encouraging him to write about how he was feeling. Thank youuuuuu!!!!!!!!
*EDIT*
I just can’t stop thinking about the show last night. How happy and confident David was. How appreciative of all the support… from fans and peers. How we get a bunch of shows in one: Pop Star David, Rocker David, Groovy Soul David, Comedian David, and Inspirational Speaker David. All wrapped up in one precious package.
He’s an arena-caliber talent who we get to see in these intimate venues… for now. #feelingsoblessed
P.s.
Praise be, the illustrious Donna Periscoped the amazingness that was this evening.

P.p.s.
My vids and pics aren’t great but I’ll post because I can 🙂
P.p.s.s.
Love you, Miss Tina! 😭😭😭😭😭
And the Shellster does it again, what a shot!
VIDEOOOOS!!!!! (Thank you, Divine Ms. M.!!!!!)
.
When David gets verklempt, so do we, am I right?
.
My love for this song grows with each passing day, and live, alsjsjdhdgdgsgfzfz

He Lives in You (thank you, Shelley!❤️)
I knew that Franklin would be magical, would be very special. If it wasn’t just so far away! I called my good friend SF as she was making her way there tonight and as I watched that huge full moon.
Anyway, anything is magical when David is singing and we have known that for years.
“Say Me” has painted a picture for me and I see the children David speaks about and I see, sorry to say, animals looking for someone as well. Hopefully that sad song will soften more hearts. You have done well David!
I am looking forward to the posts that will follow soon!
SB 🇨🇦
Missed you, SB!!!! {{{{{❤️hugs❤️}}}}
I thought about the concert most of the evening. It is hard to leave a tour 😒 but it was fun and soooo good to hear David sing again!! 😊
Is there a date for Calgary??
SB 🍁
{{{ Hugs TOfan & Refnaf }}}
Dec. 15th but no details yet.
TOFan – Say me has always gutted my heart since the 1st time I heard of it. But of a different context. And like you I cry all the time. I mean I sure look loco dancing & bumping to UAN, Invincible; pumping my fist in the air for Waiting in the Stars & Shine the Light, then I turn mush for Say Me & Upset with You. These, while driving, LOL
Higher Ground – ’nuff said.
Told ya Nashville will be special. He always delivers some extra sumthin-sumthin’ for his home and/or heartland.
same with the fist in the air! lol 👊🏼
I could try leaving a comment…but right now there are still no words!! Except two….ON FIRE!!!!!! 🙀😍🔥
🔥👏🏻🦄👍🏼🎊😍😳🍁
The top picture says it all. David now is filled with joy when he sings. Thank you Trent Dabbs for talking him off the ledge and instead giving him his voice. I was one of the impatient fans wondering why David was taking so long getting his new music out. It was so worth the wait!
That top picture is the only decent pic of David I’ve ever taken, lol… and yes! Soooooooo worth the wait! 🙌🏼
SO happy for everyone who got to be in Franklin last night!! I just knew this show was going to be incredible. This whole run of shows was just so special–like you said, it’s hard to find words! Thank God for all of those lovely people who shared their own light and encouraged David to keep sharing his.
Wish you could’ve been there, Chelsy! You’re right, these run of shows has been out of this world!
Your title…….
Franklin was everything
That is all
Incredible show, so glad you were there TOfan (and others) how wonderful! Yes, I can see how Franklin was everything, wow. Don’t think it can get better than what David gives, every stage he blesses with all he has is never the same (nor the audience). Awesome to have so many wonderful videos, photos, etc, to give everyone a taste of what transpires, always grateful for the fan sharing.
Thanks for the great recap, updates…..I can see how words can fail after these amazing experiences, you still mange to relay a lot of goodness, love it all.
How great that some of the co writers, producers were there too, what a fantastic ‘home show’ for David, continually amazed by this guy!
Until i can collect my thoughts, only one word comes to mind EPIC. i fear that i will not be able to fully express all that happened in franklin. while i may not be able to remember the specifics of that night as time goes on i will always remember how i felt and that can be said in two simple words, gratitude and love – it was abundant, free flowing and filled the room.i think if you watch nothing else, be sure to see David’s talk right before Glorious. That’s pretty much the entire night in a nutshell.
“gratitude and love—it was abundant, free flowing and filled the room”… beautifully put, Janey… still feeling the after-glow of all that love. ❤️ ‘twas awesome to see you, btw! 😍
awesome to see you too! we spent far too little time together however ❤
For sure, we probably could’ve talked all night long, lol. 😘
one more thing, and i believe i mentioned it to you at the venue after the show. usually David feeds off the energy of the crowd and it’s a two way street (very much the KC experience) but somehow Franklin felt like the love was all from David outward, you could see it in his moves, his smile and certainly hear it in his voice. so happy the stars aligned and he did his best to take care of himself. there were no signs of illness (other than the tear in his eye before Glorious). the day off and driving miss kari might have rejuvenated him. his energy was off the charts.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Animal shrieks and primal screams LOL !!! Do you think he really knows what he does to us? I think he might be a bit alarmed if he did 😀 😀 😀
😳😳😳
That was a goofy way of saying he is so humble that I don’t think he realizes how amazing he is in every way !! I love your commentary , vids , and that great top picture !!!
you’re so right, he doesn’t! and thanks, oliveoil!! ❤
Love your picture at the top, TOfan! David 2.0 performing with such joy is a sight to behold and a delight to hear! I am so fortunate to have witnessed this at the HiFi in Indianapolis. Their Facebook page has a collection of fantastic photographs from the concert! Thanks to all who shared this recent tour with photos, videos, and recaps!
thanks, Spirit! That picture up top is probably the only one I’ve ever taken of David that has turned out! lol
And thanks for the heads up about the HiFi photos, they are great, here’s the link:

Am verklempt right now reading through some of the lovely comments on David’s Franklin IG post (with the songwriters).
A few faves:
Last night was a dream come true for me. I’ve been a fan since American Idol, and I have loved every song I’ve listened to by you, David. I have never had the opportunity to see you in concert until last night, and it’s all because my sweet husband surprised me with tickets for our anniversary. It was a sweet surprise for this occasion, because we used a few of your songs in our wedding (Forevermore, To Be With You, and My Kind of Perfect). So, of course it was my favorite when you sang Forevermore and My Kind of Perfect. Although, I must say that I am really enjoying this new music you shared with us. It radiates who you are, and I just love the rawness of it. You have such a gift, and I’m so grateful that you decided to share the real you with us. It makes you unique and genuine in the music industry, which is why I continue to listen to and support you throughout the years. May God continue to bless you in your journey. Thank you for such a wonderful, encouraging evening! PS- Your version of O Holy Night is my favorite… it makes me cry every time I listen to it.
trentdabbs Far too kind man. Great job last night:)
What an amazing concert last night! Every minute of it was great! It’s so amazing to see an artist be so real on stage and to be able to show us that your human to and go through some of the same things we go through. Thank you for a great time! Best concert I️ have been to in a long time! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😁😁😁😁
just read this comment (pretty much applies to all of us LOL), “vkohottieThe part where my head almost exploded w happiness-that’s most of the concert.”
That top pic is glorious!! I’ve been waiting and hoping for recaps and videos from what I knew would be pure awesomeness from Tennessee! Thank you, Deb! He is something else! But we’ve known that all along. Makes my heart so happy for him! ❤️ Thank you all who took pics and vids!
That top picture really is glorious TOfan…says it all, as do David’s beautiful words before “Glorious”. ❤ ❤ ❤
Wonderful comments too, here and on Instagram. ❤
Love that he’s doing this! One of my VIP Qs was going to be, “What was it like to work with Trent Dabbs?” 😊
(Hoping this is not a duplicate post; was having issues posting).
Thank you Deb for this post summing up the EPIC show that I knew it would be and that I had to sadly miss (life can be cruel…considering I was THIS close to being there to witness it all 😭). As always Deb, even when you have no words, you just know how to deliver this precious and momentous ARCHULETA experience in a perfect package 😘. Not to continue to wallow in my misfortune but it is so lovely to notice that Tina, in her IG caption above, even thought of those who were there only in spirit: “Thanks aren’t enough to everyone who was in Nashville this weekend both in person and in spirit” because on twitter, it felt like practically the whole fandom had traveled to Nashville! I am super pleased that my single ticket went to the lovely @emilyluvsarchie who used to post the most ethusiastic fun comments and who is now one of David’s many young fans who’ve already graduated from college (which makes David “feel old” haha!); my seat was right next to her family’s and her younger brother who couldn’t go could now go; then he got sick and couldn’t go so her 77-yo grandmother who loves David but who had never seen him in concert went instead! This all made my pain (physical and otherwise!) more bearable.❤️☀️
Penciltopaper, My grandmother told me to tell you she was very sorry that you had to miss the show. I wanted you to know that she had a blast! She danced, and sang, and we have the cutest video of her chanting “David…David…” before the encore. She kept commenting on how happy David looked performing, and how he really is as sincere as he seems. We listened to his CDs all the way back to West Virginia, she commented that he sounds better live than on the CDs.We all thank you for the opportunity to bring her! She is ready for another show, haha!
Aww Emily I am sooo glad your grandmother had a blast!!❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for letting me know how much fun she had! Please tell her I am tickled pink at how well things worked out so do not be sorry at all. It was meant to be that you saw my tweet and I mean, one available seat right next to your family!! I am so very happy she finally got to hear David live and of all shows, it sounded like a most amazing one where he was beyond fantastic!!!
Oh man, *SOBS* {{{{{hugs}}} you guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️
David’s comeback is so emotional on several levels. I appreciate the kindness & generosity Archies show each other everywhere. The excitement shared. The flooding of so many memories. The sudden pause post concert, from what-the-heck-just-happened moments….
And David… the guy just keeps on giving, even of he doesn’t know it. And that’s what I find magical in this experience.
I cannot even put in writing what his trip to Manila meant and how HE reacted — away from the camera. A lot of times, your heart would just burst with happiness for him and sadness that he would think otherwise of things that would naturally flow from fans to a much beloved artist.
I could really bop his head (lovingly of course, haha)
happy and sad for y’all (you know what i mean!) ❤
Have you guys seen David’s latest flurry of IG stories???
A few of them are responses to some peeps who must’ve sent him comments giving him grief about his nerding out on Pokemon… WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE??? … he’s so right, they should go ahead and unfollow him if they cannot appreciate the joy and wonderment that is the whole Archuleta Package. Sheesh. Now I’m ranting, hahaha. ‘Twas great to see him talk about how much he loved this last tour tho’ … to see him so happy and feeling fulfilled and free enough to express himself honestly. *SOBS*

Totally get your rant! Made me think of the Millenial Chisme’s reaction to “Upset with Me”: “Who hurt David?? Who do we go beat up?!” Yeah names & numbers grrrr lol
hahaha, EXACTLY!!! lol
… and he’s still at it! his face of puzzlement tho’ 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thanks for posting, caught David’s Instagram on twitter too. Unless they are posted somewhere I don’t see them all, so really appreciate that! Aw, David, I’m with him….#nerdsunited. A bit of a ‘nerd’ myself I think. Just love his stories, his little rants, his kind heart, his humour. You’ll never please everybody but that’s okay. Some people just like to judge and to label others. He is one heck of a great guy…..and I’ve noticed lately that his followers have increased actually. What’s not to love with that magnificent voice and genuine and thoughtful personality. He’s his own person and that’s a good thing. He definitely had a great time on tour….as did the lucky people who attended the shows. Yeah for Instagram stories. 🙂
p.s. Thanks for the singing David, anytime!
some lovely person, put them all on video, pepp!!! gotta catch ’em all! 🙂
My favorite set of Instagram stories by David ever, and I’ve loved a lot of his insta-stories! He is David hear him roar. He is so inspirational to all. I am proud to be his fan.
Me too Grammyj! I’m so very happy David continued his music career! The alternative is just way too hard to fathom!
THAT VOICE! It’s the most beautiful sound, EVER!
Thank you to the fellow awesome fans who share their videos, pictures & recaps!
Wonderful, thanks to that lovely person who put all his little stories on video! 🙂
Love this series he’s doing… was dying to know more about who he worked with on each song:
some lovely comments on the post, like this one:
“I took three others with me to The Promontory and now you have three new fans. We all love your new album. You are and always will be my most favorite, thanks for being ‘you.’ “
another three bite the duuuuust 🙂 🙂 🙂
.
and this one: <333

Thanks TOfan, yes I did a little research last night and found the venue. This really is a beautiful concert hall for David’s Christmas show, perfect! Will be a wonderful concert!
are you thinking of going??
The lovely & amazing Abrra made an mp3 of that aMAZing acoustic Numb from the Nashville TV station, download HERE.
TOfan, yes I am planning to go, want to catch his Christmas show and there is something about this concert in Canada that is just, well….special. It’s also closer to me (well, a short flight that is).
Just been waiting for the info, 🙂
Thanks to Abrra for the mp3, always so appreciated! That acoustic version of Numb really is amazing, so good!
By the way TOfan, have to say thank you for all the wonderful updates here, what a great post, chocked full of all kinds of wonderful things. Still enjoying all the videos, Instagrams, etc. and all the lovely fan shares (including yours).
OK. Yes, I saw him in Sellersville and I saw him in Pittsburgh with Sandybeaches. But in Franklin, Well….
WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!??? IS HE FOR REAL? As I watched David on stage, completely mesmerized and stunned by him again & again, I could not help but think, THIS! This is WHY! The
answer to the questions by some friends and family who wondered why in years past, I went to as
many concerts as I possibly could in support of this young man. I used to wonder how there could be some people who couldn’t see in him what his fans could see. I don’t mean his character, his compassion and his goodness which was obvious to everyone. I’m talking about his “potential” to become the ARTIST he is now. He was always a joy to watch on stage to be sure, BUT NOW? He is MORE. He has opened the floodgates! He has taken the reins of his life and he is a man who,
with his faith to guide him, has reached literally with his new album, for the stars. With his new found confidence to do what is good & right for himself, he now has the courage to do what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants. To see this brave new David is a wonder to behold and so very appealing and attractive. Courage to say what you feel to be heard like the lyrics in
“Postcards In The Sky” can bring clarity and light to our lives and in David, his light, his aura, is blinding when he speaks. And then there’s the music. The voice. The emotion. He can make a
grown man cry or soothe a woman’s soul, or give hope to a teenager, or calm a crying baby so deep is the emotion he exudes. And when he rocks? Well, one look at the videos of his up-beat performances answer that question and if still in doubt, one only has to see his ending of ALTNOY or Higher Ground to put any doubts to rest that he is pretty much one of the most
E L E C T R I F Y I N G performers today. No need for background singers. His voice is all it takes. Dancers? Ha! HE OWNS THE STAGE when he moves! (Who knew? He’s Latino! How could he NOT have some hot moves!) Pyrotechnics? Nah! David’s inner light shines bright. Proof is in the first picture above taken by TOfan which is, IMO, one of the most beautiful pictures of David taken by a fan I have ever seen. David’s essence, his joy at doing what he loves is so clear and so beautiful in that picture.
One more thing, David’s IG videos? Can I just say again, WHO IS THAT AND WHAT DID HE DO WITH DAVID? I take offence at him calling David “scrawny”! Small, yes. But a GIANT ON STAGE, thank you very much!
That is all.
