LOOOOOOVE THIIIIIS VIDEOOOOOO!!!!!
The song the black and white bits the nature walk the song the river bed the desert boots the song (did I mention the song??)
Did anyone else scream at the EXTREEEEME David close-up 10 secs. in? lol
Gahhhh, not sure what I was expecting BUT THIS BEATS IT BY A TENNESSEE MILE, Y’ALL!!!!!!!
EDIT: Okay, I’ve had a chance to watch it, ahem, a few more times and I love it even more, if that’s possible. The gorgeous… scenery… (yes, the scenery, it is quite verdant and lovely π )… and the way the closeups sort of punctuate the song, if that make sense… putting certain lyrics in bold to really bring them home… and the way the closeups go from black and white to colour… from something missing to something whole and real … and the way he keeps walking forward, moving from shadows to light.
Acckkkk, so much to love, isn’t there, my friends??!!
GROUP HUGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??
p.s.
“thanks so much for all the love” *SOBS*
Eeeeeeep
David and a nature trail? What could be better!
Love it…. Not sure about the face close ups tho….
Love it! All of it! Nature, the close ups and the singing!!!!!! ππΆ
Remember way back when David did that interview sitting on his hands because someone told him he looked awkward singing because he waved his hands around too much? The one thing that strikes me about David when I see him sing is that he feels and sings his songs with every bit of his being. His intensity is mesmerizing. I love this song and I am happy that the recorded version lives up to his live performances. I loved that this video is David being David , in all his awkward glory. I have to say though that I have always thought that he walks with a cat like swagger.
I love this video!! Song and setting are a perfect match! I can handle those close-ups. They are a brave move, but seem to carry their own message to those who have not seen or heard David for a while. Same goes for the manly guy-singer and the not-so-subliminal stubble.
Back to the video…
:)))) Still love this song, a lot. Video is pretty simple at first glance…haven’t given it any deep thought. David out in nature seems fitting and the scenery shots are nice…I like those inserted silhouettes of him singing too. So happy for this current & next phase of his music.
Off to a great start! π΅
Getting use to the close ups….. They just seemed so intense at first, lol.
2nd view β€οΈ even more. This is David, now. He seems so in charge of himself in his musical space & hopefully his life now…at least as far as we can see. This video reflects his growth, maturity. But that said…there was one spot in the middle, on one of those closeups where the little “chipmunk-cheek smile” started…love that too…also David now…and forever, let’s hope. π
added more to my flailing post based on possibly one or 16 more viewings π
and did anyone else get this notification when they shared it on FB??

.
.
nvm, I’ve just been told it was a FB tech glitch, but I am keeping the screen cap! LOL
Love the song, love the video, LOVE the closeups, love the David, love all of you! *heart pops*
My fave comment so far on the IG post: π
“I feel like you’re kinda sassy in this video, I dig it ππ”
.
and on the Lyric video:
And in case you wondered if he reads the comments: π
I’m still trying to recover from the stubble…

The black and white to color, and the dark to light were the things that I caught, also. I love the message that that delivers. β₯
Yes, very well done!
Nice article on the Christmas concerts:
http://linkis.com/www.deseretnews.com/H4ANT
Sounds like David is talking about himself here, lol:
“”My favorite thing about singing with Nathan is that as powerful as his voice is, he doesn’t try to hog any musical space,” Archuleta wrote. “He is such a talent and he is a down-to-earth guy which makes it even easier to share the stage with him.β
Because these performances mark Pacheco’s first Christmas-themed tour, he said he is excited to share the stage with Archuleta.
“I truly mean this when I say that David is one of the best vocalists I’ve ever heard,” Pacheco wrote. “He’s got a true gift, and I’ve loved having the opportunity to collaborate with him. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he is a very humble, unassuming person that has a heart of gold.”
Love the video, gorgeous! Have loved this song from first listen and the video adds an extra beauty to it. Yes, David is all grown up (stubble and all, ha), his own person, yet the same extraordinary talent and gifted interpreter of music. I love the new ‘grown up’ David, his independence, his expression, confidence and the over all feel of this beautiful video is really his ‘statement’. Way to go David!
Love the change from black & white to colour too and your description TOfan “from something missing to something whole and real β¦ and the way he keeps walking forward, moving from shadows to light”. Very nice.
Love the part when he sings “everything is right…..” and lifts his arms to the openness of life, himself, his heart, soul and the Universe (or however you may interpret it). Love the whole video…… and the music, well….superb!
p.s. Yes, good article about the Christmas concerts which will be incredible I’m sure.
Ditto to what peppertara said! I loved everything about this beautiful video from the best singer on the planet. It’s exciting to think that next month we get another music video from David. It would be great if he decided to do a new music video every month. A girl can dream!
wait, another video?? for what song?? How did I miss that? LOL #fanfail
He’s releasing “My Little Prayer” next month. I assumed it would be a music video like the one he did last Christmas for “The Prayer”. The same producer is working on this song that did “The Prayer”. I could be wrong and he just releases the song without a video. Here’s hoping for a video but I know we at least get the song!
Iβve always liked Numb but the music video really seems to put it all together for me. Itβs complete now, full circle. The total picture that he wants to show, where he was 2 years ago, is shown. Really anxious to hear more of his songwriting treasures. And that voiceβ¦..
I totally agree! Full circle. And so very clearly getting out his message that he is not staying status quo. David is making his own decisions and David will no longer do music that doesn’t mean something to him just because he’s supposed to (according to those who think they know what people should do).
I love that he’s come into his own. I love that he’s taking charge and won’t give his fans second-rate music that means nothing.
We are truly in for the ride of our lives. Might take longer to get to the top of that ride at times, but I’m willing to wait. The payoff is incredible. β₯
Yes! Yes! And heck, yes!!!!!

I watched the Facebook live with David at the Children’s Hospital. It was trademark David – open, honest, fun, dorky. I loved when he tried to recall the names of the seven dwarfs when one of the children asked him that. Then after that fun appearance David puts up an Instagram Story where the ladies at the DMV are taking selfies with him. Hilarious! You gotta love it!
Thanks for the heads up on that too, GrammyJ! Too cute, gotta love his Nashville accent!

Where is the DMV IG? I haven’t been able to find it. π¦
It was one of those IG stories (located at the top of your IG feed when you’re in the app)… or a fan might’ve captured it on video, tawna
Does this work?
That worked, TOfan. Thank you! π
I agree, TOfan. The perfect video for the perfect song !!! I hope David continues to put out more music like this cuz I love alternative pop/rock infused with his amazing vocals. ( along with any other musical genre ) His hospital interview was wonderfully Davidish. He is more mature, but still loves Pokemon and Pixar movies :):):)
I thought the same about that interview, oliveoil… he’s changed but yet he hasn’t π

I would have 12 left feet, a mushy brain, and a stopped heart if I were in her shoes!! Wow!!! David looks so dang awesome in a suit! π
Haha tawna21, 12 left feet would probably be the reality for most! Love that video, David showing the girl how to dance, how sweet is that.
Speaking of sweet, some of the comments from his Numb video are so very moving, He should definitely be making music, more and more of it. He really is an artist with so much heart, passion, a platinum voice that stands alone and someone with a true purpose: β€
These comments really touched me:
"David, It's said that when you tap into your deepest emotions and put that emotion into your work, that you'll create works of art. You have done that with Numb. You tapped into what you were feeling and put that into this song and the result is incredible. Can't wait to hear more of that you've been working on. I know it'll be just as amazing :)ο»Ώ"
"David Archuleta this video is stunning. I can feel the emotion, the message, it really moves me. Your music has helped me overcome many hardships in my life over these past several years – I began listening at age 14 and I am now 23. It helped me have the courage to break free from the chains of abuse that my parents did to me for most of my life. It really did help me "put one foot front of the other", it got me through many hard times. I am now healing, and happy to be married to a loving husband. I'm living my own life. You wouldn't know what your music means to me and has done in my life. God has used you in ways you don't even know. Thank you for the gift of your music, it is one of the reasons I am still here today.ο»Ώ"
"Thank you so much for this beautiful piece. You touched the hearts of many of my clients in NYC who suffer from eating disorder. I showed this during group to help them be more recovery focused as the ED is definitely a way to numb out life. I really appreciate your music!ο»Ώ"
"This song has given me strength on the days I wanted to give up:) TY!ο»Ώ"
"I'm a single mom now of six bc of a tragedy in our family..three of my kiddos are disabled..every day is a struggle..this song has given me peace..thank you!ο»Ώ"
omigosh, thanks for bringing those over, pepp! I really hope David reads them.
It’s so true… just by following his own heart and using his gifts to express himself, he’s touching more people than he’ll ever know.
