He would hate it BUT we love it…and sometimes it’s gotta be about us!!! Lol he’s gotta face the fact that whether he likes it or not, he’s our guy and we aren’t going away ππ
dangitdavid – Yup, and he has a lot of fans waiting to hear him sing again, perform again and will listen to and snap up his new music releases (especially after the Archudrought) — because he is amazing and it’s about time he owned it!
Dear David,
Dude…it is what it is…roll with it. π
ps. … no big surprise, tptb knew what they were doing when they asked him to join the project.
“Win-win” for all concerned. The end. π
Amen ππ
Hahaha “bars don’t lie”…that’s awesome rotfl ππ
Hahaha! Of course Tim Allen bought a few!!
I
I bought it but haven’t listened yet. Not my genre…although I’m sure David does a fabulous job. A question about the song. How would it sound with someone else singing it? In other words, do you think David’s writing is maturing?
Definitely not my genre either, but here’s Janel’s (of FOD) video of the song by the NTB:
It’s not my genre either but I’d say the song stands up on its own. But I tend to like the songs David’s written the best (really liked Broken). Glorious, the song, only meh for me.
While we’re sharing cover videos, LOL, check out this one: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/hear-billy-joels-explosive-cover-of-paul-mccartneys-maybe-im-amazed-20141106
What I would give to hear David play piano like that. And it is interesting to think about the contrast between Billy Joel’s edgy voice and Paul McCartney’s original in his sweet voice. Both these songwriters have proved to be lasting draws. Billy Joel does perhaps my all-time favorite lyrics (perhaps tied with Paul Simon, LOL).
And speaking Paul Simon, I read an older interview recently in which he lamented that he couldn’t do edgy rock songs, that his voice just wouldn’t go there. He wrote for the instrument he had.
Wow! Awesome, Miss B.! I got to see Billy Joel once in concert here, back when I was in high school, I think. He only had his 1st album out, Piano Man, and our seats were so far up on the far right that my sister and I had to hang over the edge of the balcony to see him sitting at his piano… which was also on the far right, lol.
Now you’ve got me thinking of my favourite lyricists… After The Beatles (“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make” takes top spot), Joni Mitchell is right up there, and Jackson Browne, and for current artists, I think Lorde has some very poetic lyrics. I also love a lot of David’s: “I just want to steal this moment right away from time.” π
I am really enjoying When the Son of Man…..it is similar to praise and worship songs that we sing in church.
One of my fave lyricist is Leonard Cohen…. So deeeeeeep!
