Back in Nashville again. Went to the CMT Awards last night which was really cool! A really laid back and comfortable vibe there with everyone. The show in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was great! Meeting with writers and other meetings to get a feel for people and to make the music more meaningful

Confession time: It’s always great to get a vlog from David Archuleta and I appreciate that he takes the time to make them but maybe because we pretty much all ready knew all the info he shared in this vlog, I spent most of the four minutes and 15 seconds trying to figure out if that was a pool table behind him, trying to picture David actually playing pool, thinking my aunt has that exact same puffy armchair, and wondering why someone left the closet door open (pet peeve, sorry).
I love that David’s meeting with songwriters and trying to find a good fit in order to make meaningful music but whoa, what happened to writing by himself to find out what his sound is? (see THR interview below) I’ve been home sick with a nasty bug for about a week, did I miss something???
Don’t get me wrong, David looks happy and he clearly feels at home in Nashville so I’m thrilled he’s taking the path he wants to take… I just feel like I’m the only one who didn’t get the “I’m shopping around for collaborators” memo.
It is clear that he’s got a lot going on right now, more of that “foundation building” I guess, so his vlogs are bound to be a collection of highlights of events that we crazed fans already know every detail about. I hope he knows that if he’s ever stuck for news to share with us, he can always just start SINGING … just puttin’ that out there. 🙂

David seems to be auditioning collaborators… 😀 Which makes me very happy. I think he knows what direction he wants to go and is ready to move forward. If he gets some people to work with like he did his band then oh my heck … we are in for an epic year! future! ride! LOL! He is very focused! yay! Love David taking charge! 😀
I guess the memo was in David’s head, ha. Yes, it sounds to me too that David is ‘auditioning’ collaborators in Nashville. He probably has written some songs on his own but still wants to write with the ‘right people’ who understand him and the kind of music he wants to create. All still a little mysterious but exciting! Who knows what else is up his sleeve. I did see a picture of David with a young artist/songwriter in Nashville who has a nice soulful sound to her music. Can’t remember her name now. Think we are in for an epic rest of the year too and the future…..nice to speculate! What we’ve seen so far has been epic already.
I loved all the blue in the vlog…it was a short blog but as always, sweet. The editing was a little surprising yes, lol.
David in charge and David taking his time so he can do things the right way for him this time. Sounds good as we all exercise patience and….wonderment?

“wonderment” — great word, peppertara! I always suspected David’s songwriting strength would be writing the music, the melody, and I wonder if he has a bunch of those written and he needs a lyricist to collaborate with to help him finish his songs. Just a wild thought. One thing I love about David being in Nashville is all the great contacts and connections he’s making. Epic rest of the year, indeed! (esp. if the Canucks win the Stanley Cup! 🙂 )

I think he knew what his sound was, just no one else. Agree with peppertara, he did some writing on his own so he has something to demonstrate what he is aiming for. Many fans have felt he needs to get with the right people – writers, producer, management, etc who understand him and his sound, his style. Maybe that is exactly what he is doing. I think I like it. 🙂

Just a comment on David writing by himself…I think that he mentioned that he was doing a project in Nashville and I’m sure that includes the other writers….I’m sure when David has time away from these types of projects he will start writing again by himself….He has the skills and if you’ve listened to Falling I’m sure you’ll all agree…Anyways other then that he was his super hot self. Also I’m sure David will share more of what’s going on when he gets everything cleared up…like his tour schedule??? hint hint if David actually reads this blog…kkk…Anyways hope he’ll never stop doing these blogs!!

David not being in the crowd at the Canucks celebration in Vancouver….well one of the few who wasn’t there, haha.
I haven’t dared venture to downtown Vancouver lately as I know it would take me all night to get home! Awesome support and excitement though, rooting for our guys all the way! Celebrations, jerseys, flags and cupcakes (Canucks cupcakes) everywhere! Met some people from Washington state who came up to cheer on the Canucks, pretty nice. 🙂
Love that video of young sweet David, still amazes me endlessly, His soulful sound and delivery are incredible. Who does that at 11 yrs old? Went on to fulfill his destiny though. Still the little soul man from Utah but in a much bigger way and a more mature and awesome version.
