It is SOOOO catchy! The ear-worminess!! The bop-iosity!! The impulse to make up my own wordsssss!!!
The snippet melody line has been stuck in my head since I first heard it. And the lyrics are simultaneously hilarious and poignant and so relatable. (Is this the first time we’ve heard props to melatonin in a song?? I believe so.)

Since you asked…here goes.
Random stream of consciousness on Losin’ Sleep. My initial thoughts upon hearing the snippet was that the song could go either way, was it a love song or a break up song? Then I read the lyrics before I heard the full song. I knew it was going to be a tough one to listen to in terms of how poignant and powerful the lyrics were. No bones about it the song cuts deep. It is a testament to how far David has traveled as a songwriter and how much work he’s done on an emotional level. I love this new collab team adding Cardin to the all male mix.
My hat is once again tipped to Nate on the production. He is extremely versatile whether he’s going for stripped down or multiple layers of sound. Love, love love the vibe, it’s unique and very current.
I can’t wait to hear David’s acoustic version. Much like Be That for You I expect it to be so full of emotion that we may not survive as a species.
Just listened now! (Been a crazy day…no excuses there..but I had to just be reminded!). I thought so too…re: ”earworm” …it was stuck in my head yesterday when I only heard the snippet! Oh my gosh Deb …that was the first thing I thought…this sounds like a Justin Bieber song! But then I doubted myself since I really don’t listen to the Biebs. I think that line is “all the stupid scrolling is not gonna help me close ’em” (referring to his red eyes) And finally, I thought the same thing, a king needs a king size bed! *although he would probably get lost in it. 😄
