I love that he feels confident enough to “let it all hang out” (as it were 🙂 ) … if you’ve got it, flaunt it, I say.

Right. You knew the paroxysms of shock you’d send literally around the world, Sir. THAT’s the smile we see in the picture, am I right??
Sidenote: Love his meditation pose… I’m a TM (Transcendental Meditation)-er from way back, and although I do not sit quite like this (and definitely not in a raging waterfall), David’s expression brought me instant Zen… (yes, his expression, sheesh)… I highly recommend meditation, of any form, to de-stress, combat anxiety, the works. But I digress… back to the photos. 🙂
Can we talk about that back flip? Wowza! We were all uber-impressed when David pulled off a handstand, but this is next level! I can barely dive in front-ways, never mind a backflip.
David is in it to WIN it, you guys, in every way, and is diving in with both feet to the bright, bright future he so deserves. (See what I did there? 😉 )
I feel beyond blessed to be on on this ride with you all, so proud of the individual David’s blossomed into, and soooooo excited for what’s to come.

Ha, love this. He never ceases to surprise me! Yes, good for David. Awesome pics and no wonder he has been working out so vigorously…..preparing for this! Kidding, he certainly has nothing to worry about. He looks great, always has. I truly admire David’s persistence to overcome fears, build confidence and ‘share’ so many aspects of himself. His adventuresome and courageous spirit are to be admired, for sure. He is much further ahead than I was at his age! That back flip was great!
Kudos to David and looks like he’s having a great time. Love the meditation pose too. I recommend a meditation practice as well. I meditate daily and it can make such a difference on many levels.

The genealogist in me is jealous of David. I have a lot of ancestors from there. Cummins Waterfall is located in Cookeville, TN in Putnam County. I have some friends who live there too. I’ve never been there.

Loving David’s journey as a musician and as a human being. This surprise (public display of wet hair, er not hehe) reminded me of when the Up All Night music video came out in which, to my huge surprise (I’m sure everyone else’s too), he actually danced! I said to hubs “you’d never guess what he did in the video!!” His (genuine) reply: “He took his shirt off!!” The day has come. 😂

All that said…I’ve ALWAYS been amazed and a bit bewildered by back flips (never happenin’ in my lifetime for me, pretty dang sure)….I just can’t even figure how one lifts oneself into the air and flips over 360 degrees. Kudos to him. 2nd….I want to visit this waterfall now…looks like a great place! I’ve been to Nashville in summer, when it’s 100 degrees still at 11pm…THIS is probably a popular antidote to those that live there.

Guys, I need to share something with you.
I keep going back and looking at his picture in the water, not because I’m creepy I SWEAR THAT I AM NOT!!! But because he looks perfect. And my mind can’t 100% compute perfect. Like I stand and stare at the Mona Lisa or the Grand Canyon or my favourite tree… because each one is perfect in its own way. And sitting in those waterfalls looking serene and all, he just looks perfect. That’s it. Just had to get that off my… omg… chest, yes, my chest.
perhaps what’s perfect about the photo is that we have a sense of what’s taken place to get him there. of course we don’t have the details but he has shared so much and we’ve seen a lot with our own eyes the last 11 years. so yes, perfection personified, in more ways than one. TOfan, funny that you brought this up as i was thinking this evening after work on my way to the parking lot that the baby vid is perfect in my eyes as that it shows David with sweaty matted down hair and singing and swaying with a baby – how many young men do that? so in my eyes David was imperfectly perfect.
on second thought, that should be David was perfectly imperfect in the baby video, after all it’s almost 2am here. maybe i should give myself a commenting curfew, lol.

Well OK then….taking a breath. His meditation picture? I always knew it was just a matter of time. Just kidding! I was as flabbergasted as everyone else and didn’t believe it. He looks so serene and so like a new, comfortable & no longer “Paralyzed” David. As for his new single, I listened to “Paralyzed” as soon as I got the password this morning and couldn’t get it out of my head all day. It’s so, so good! Can’t wait to see the music video as well.
I’m so happy for David. So happy he has been in a sense, reinventing himself. It’s not an unheard of concept for artists to do so when they feel a need to jumpstart their career in a new or different direction. I think David is doing that. David wants more. Nothing wrong with that. We’ve all wanted more for him. We’ve all felt he deserved more. More recognition as phenomenal artist he is. I’m glad he recognizes the need to make some changes in his persona, his appearance to appeal to a wider range of people and at the same time not compromising who he is and his beliefs. I think perhaps therapy helped him understand that in order to grow as an artist, an entertainer, or as a
man, he needed to just let go and just be! The photo of him at the waterfall was in a sense letting us know he’s broken free of the anchors that were holding him down. What’s next? Who knows. David has never been predictable. One thing I am sure of. His move to the Nashville area was the best thing he ever did for himself & his career. Otherwise, we may have never seen him meditating under a waterfall and how very sad would that be? 😉

Watched David’s new music video on various screens like my phone, laptop, bedroom 32 inch TV screen, big family room 60 inch screen trying to get a better look at David. He didn’t disappoint when at the end HE showed the angst and frustration he said the song is about with the explosion of his dancing & vocalization. WOW!
I wonder whose idea it was to use ballerinas to express fear, anger, frustration, chains & chaos? They were good but not what I would have chosen to express those emotions as I’ve always thought of ballerina dances as calming, beautiful & serene. But then, what do I know?
I’m hoping this is a start of the new direction David is hoping & aiming for. It’s looking good so far!
On another note, I have been going back to his early songs and wouldn’t be disappointed if he were to release or re-release some of the songs that never made his albums because he thought the message in the lyrics were “too mature” or “not him” at the time. Some of those songs were really good & he’s a grown man now who has shown us more of him than we ever thought we would see. But again, what do I know? Just my opinion. 😉
