Spokane @DavidArchie recap

Dear friends,

Just thought I’d let you know (as if you didn’t know already) that we have possibly picked the best guy ever to be fans of.

A guy who, when you give him a T-shirt as a gift at a VIP, makes a point to wear it at the next one … and tell everyone there that it was from “the Canadians” *SOBS*

That would be this shirt (that says “the mountains call and I must go,” which he made a point of reading out, upside down, to everyone there) 😭

A guy who adds My Little Prayer to both the VIP and the show because a lovely man in the VIP told him he felt compelled to travel to the show from Nebraska to thank him for the song after hearing it on a spiritual playlist a mere 6 weeks ago and that it affected him deeply. Oh and then he gave the guy a shoutout when introducing the song. 😭😭😭

A guy who sounds like this singing Fast Car by Tracy Chapman:

.
A guy who says, “Sure!” when you ask him to give your dad a birthday message:

Seriously though… one thing that really hit home during this Spokane show was how blessed I feel to be supporting such a remarkable person.

He fielded some interesting VIP questions…

1. About the new music that’s coming (my Q…feel free to thank me later 😎) …

He said he is very excited about the next EP, Β which will have a retro “groovy” soulful vibe… PEOPLE, I AM BEYOND EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!!!!

He also said that the album will feature all the EP songs PLUS… I repeat… PLUS additional songs. (I was nodding and smiling and giving him so many thumbs up during his answer that I’m sure I pulled a muscle).Β

He said he has 16 songs he wants to release over these EPs and album. *cartwheels*

2. A lovely young lady from Idaho told him she loved Numb and wanted to know the story behind it, so he shared that.

3. A fine gentleman asked about his future goals and he talked about how he’d live to have kids, have a family.

4. One lady gave him tissues because he was stuffy from allergies then had to ask for them back when his MLP made her cry.

5. He was asked how they travel on tour and apparently all 11 of them get cozy in one tour bus with bunks. He stretched out his back saying the bunks weren’t 100% comfy.

6. Who would he most like to collaborate with? Tori Kelly. He loves how she can share her spirituality in pop music and stay true to who she is.

7. His fave songs to perform? Lately, Running and Higher Ground.

8. Why Say Me was pulled from the set list? Because the crowd wasn’t “vibing to it” and neither was he. 😭 we told him we love it, however.

9. Fave Ben Rector song? He asked the others if they knew Ben’s music but they didn’t so he sang a bit of Brand New and they recognized that (be still my ❀️)… his faves: Note To Self, Wildfire and I Like You.

10. Biggest challenges? Believing in himself… something he continues to struggle with.

11. Do you have a girlfriend? (NOT my Q, I swear!) He said no… “Single… but probably not for long” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

You guyyyyys…. this guy is so worthy of all our support, ALL of it, I actually wish I had more to give… you all know this but just had to say it out loud.

And the concert was icing on a very rich, amazing cake.

Gorgeous jewel box of a venue. Very enthusiastic crowd… not Portland-level hysteria but a lot of love thrown David’s way.

The acoustics on the ballads were incredible… every tender nuance warm and Β crystal clear.

I’m Ready, Heaven, Scars, Forevermore, Broken, He Lives in You, were the highlights for me…def check out Shelley’s vids…I know she took them because Ref & I were blessed to sit between her and the lovely Tina… apparently the lady behind us said she was quite entertained by us all all night, lol.

my lame He Lives in You vid:

Oh and David invited a local kids choir to sing Glorious with him… they sounded just lovely although the boys in particular lookedclike they wanted to time-travel right outta there, lol.

Sorry for the stream of consciousness ramblings, just trying to process it all.

The next EP, the album, the eastern leg of the tour…which I know is coming…with even MORE new music!!! Yes Deb, we definitely picked the right guy to support!! β™₯

  5. Kizzi says:

Thanks for the recap Deb. I caught the wave of excitement and joy that must have been unbelievable experienced live. We are lucky to be fans, I agree.

The singing and performances, as always, are divine!

  6. Martha says:

  8. oliveoil says:

Tofan, I just LOVED your recap !!!! David is putting on such a great show !!! I guess Say Me isn’t upbeat enough for the show , but its one of my very favorite songs he’s ever written, That, and He Showed Me How. I am so grateful for you and all the other fans that take videos and write recaps. That is what keeps me a die hard fan. I tend only post comments on your site, but I truly appreciate ALL the fan sites that support this unique and awesome guy!!!

  9. tawna21 says:

Thank You!! I’m lovin’ your recap. πŸ™‚ No VIP at my show, so these are happy minutes when I read yours….. and, see the pics and videos.

I find the answer,β€œSingle… but probably not for long”, verrrry interesting! *smiles* He’s a sneaky and yet not-so-sneaky with his answers kinda guy. πŸ˜€ We’re hanging onto those words now with every heartbeat!! Who is his MKOP going to be?!

    Love this guy!!

  10. Pepper says:

TOfan thanks so much for your wonderful recap! So glad you guys had more of those special experiences, wish I could have been there too! Love the Tshirt experience, the Birthday Video….how special, the stories with the fans, Q&A, all of it. Thanks for the videos too and Glorius with the children’s choir, how sweet. Yes, he is one special guy and has some pretty special fans too.
Will have to read again but thank you, David is such a sweetheart and his fans are pretty special too! Big thanks for sharing, love it all. Happy for you, such great moments and memories. ❀

  11. missbianca says:

Thank you so much, Deb! Love hearing about all the VIP questions. The next EP sounds fan-tastic!

Why did this make me cry? I am not a person who cries. Ask Harvey–no, don’t, he’d probably cry. I am here in my cozy computer nest, awaiting David’s first local performance since the Demi tour. I’m getting so nervous and it’s not like I haven’t done concerts before. But I want y’all to love my city and for David and his crew to also love it.

And there are some folks I really miss who came last time. Not just locals like Seattle David, but far-flung friends including Naree and Gengen. Ah, nostalgia…

    • Pepper says:

Have a great time tonight missbianca, I’m sure David and team will love their visit in Seattle. I love Seattle, I’ve been there too many times to count over the years. Wish I could be there for the concert tonight. I’m sure everyone will have a fantastic time!
p.s. Was so nice to meet you in Portland! πŸ™‚

      • missbianca says:

It was great to meet you, as well, Pepper! I wish we all could have spent more time together. Portland was the most limited I’d ever felt in my wheelchair–couldn’t get through the crowds to talk to more people, couldn’t sit with everyone, almost didn’t make VIP because of all the regular ticket holders crowding the venue door.

I wonder who I’ll meet tonight!

        • missbianca says:

Oh man, whine, whine, whine! Just edit out the middle part of that from your brain. I think it’s my anxiety bubbling out.

          • Anonymous says:

Oliveoil here. So Deb. He was asked if he had a girlfriend and he said ” no “. But might he have a fiancΓ©e ?????????

          • Pepper says:

Oh no problem haha. Yes, the little venue in Portland was pretty crowded, lots of folks hanging out by the door, inside, etc. Maybe there will be a next time when we all can spend more time together. I’m sure you will see some familiar faces tonight, enjoy!

  12. Pepper says:

That last comment from me was in reply to missbianca. πŸ™‚

  13. janey79 says:

  14. Pepper says:

Thanks TOfan, looked like a fabulous show! Thanks for the videos, etc. I’m sure you and refnaf are still ‘recovering’ from it all. πŸ™‚

  15. TOfan says:

Hey guys, just realized the link I put in the post for my Fast Car video from Spokane VIP wasn’t working, so I’ve replaced it now… sorry about that!

    and how cool is this??

  16. TOfan says:

    Sara’s pix tho’ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ … be sure to scroll through!!!

  17. refnaf says:

I think the most outstanding thing I noticed on this tour is how comfortable David is as a performer AND as a person … seems he really needed to take his time to get back into music and I am thankful that he went through a time of uncertainty after his mission. Seems he needed that for his own personal growth and his confidence as a musician. The VIP seemed much more relaxed, and I sense that he really gets it now- why us uber fans will go and see him over and over!
He really is doing it his way and I don’t think we can ask for more than that. His answer about coming to Canada (going where there is demand) made me realize that we “uber” fans are such a small sliver of the big picture….we can’t really whine about the places he is not going… he goes where he can. I will not be asking him again! Not to say that if he had some decent promo he couldn’t do well here (and elsewhere)!
I’m content to let him be and develop at his own slow pace. Perhaps super stardom will come 10 or 15 years from now, certainly his voice is made to go big, lol.
THAT VOICE! This tour his voice was so perfect! He said at a VIP that he likes singing running now because his voice has gotten lower but he can also sing higher now! It may be at its perfect spot! Can his voice get better? I thought not but it keeps on doing just that!
I am so with you on this TOfan “Seriously though… one thing that really hit home during this Spokane show was how blessed I feel to be supporting such a remarkable person.”
    #blessed

  18. Pepper says:

Tofan, thanks so much for all the updates, great videos, photos and recaps. What a great tour! I’m glad that so many folks have had a chance to see him perform. I’m sure he will fit in other places here and there as well. Sharing your experiences has been great, thank you.

refnaf…..I completely agree with everything you said. I’m grateful that David gives as much as he does and yes, he should develop at his own pace and do what is right for him. I know he appreciates all of his fans and his fans certainly appreciate him. As for Canada, I certainly won’t be asking about that again, no need. I do know that there are a lot people here who would love David’s concerts (I have no doubt really), I just think he doesn’t get the promo and publicity here. In time he may though, so one never knows about the future. Just happy that he is still performing and that I can see him in concert from time to time. He truly is a remarkable person and artist and yes…..what a voice!

    • Anonymous says:

So glad you asked him pep….
I think he really doesn’t have much to say about where he tours at this point.
I won’t stop hoping tho! It could happen someday ((((hug))))

        • Anonymous says:

Oliveoil here. I’m thinking the reason David isn’t singing say me at his concerts is bc the words are so personal and heart wrenching. The song is just so beautiful. Maybe he’ll sing it in a more intimate setting. What do you think?

          • Pepper says:

Oliveoil, this is from Tofan’s recap up above regarding Q&A at VIP.
“Why Say Me was pulled from the set list? Because the crowd wasn’t β€œvibing to it” and neither was he. 😭 we told him we love it, however.”

I think we all love it!

  19. Pepper says:

No, I’m sure he doesn’t have much say about where he tours right now refnaf, does an incredible job though, wherever he does go!
    thanks and same {{{hug}}}
    πŸ™‚

  20. TOfan says:

love this recent comment on the UAN video:

“The girls in his vid look totally normal and they aren’t like perfect and they’re not wearing a ton of make up and they’re with David and I’m dying , cause this is so precious!ο»Ώ”

  21. Pepper says:

That is a good comment Tofan, yes I think that is part of the message in the video. All are beautiful. πŸ™‚
Looks like a great outdoor venue in Idaho tonight, I’m sure they’ll all have a terrific time!

  22. TOfan says:

    Shelley’s trying some Periscoping from Pocatello tonight… πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  23. TOfan…the best way to get to sleep when you can’t is to listen to David! Pretty rich voice quite unmatched still!

Have you convinced him to travel to the great north east?? Or just east??

    SB πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

  24. TOfan says:

David just sang Say Me in Layton! and the lovely & amazing Muldur peri’d!!!

    .
and here’s the splendiferous Shelley’s peri:

  25. Pepper says:

Wow, another great show last night, catching up with all the videos, periscope, etc. Thanks to the fans and thanks TOfan for the updates!
How nice that David sang “Say Me” again, so, so beautiful and a really fun “Don’t You Worry Child” added to the shows it seems. A wonderful time for the crowd, way to go David!
Do love that cute Tshirt TOfan. πŸ™‚
p.s. A very Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dads!
