Shout to the Lord, baby!

Coming across a David Archuleta song you either forgot about or somehow never added to your iPod is like Christmas morn’, isn’t it?

Well, the lovely @betsyjane79 gave me the gift of Shout to the Lord recently … the glorious David-filled studio version. I’d first heard it in Ms. refnaf’s car and I still don’t ย know how I missed getting it!

Because we’ve got Nothing Else Better To Do, let’s revisit all three, shall we? ๐Ÿ™‚

Top 8 Idol Results Show Group Number

David doesn’t get highlighted here but … surprise, surprise… Cook does. Our David just looks relieved there’s no cheesy dance number.

Idol Gives Back

No David solos. Again. If you look really closely, his mic is turned off. (In my personal conspiracy theory, anyways.)

Shout to the Lord studio version

THIS is more like it. WOWZA. *tears* as soon as David comes in. Then again when he closes it.

Download mp3 HERE. (Thx. again, bets!!!)

P.S.

Another new mp3 to me! The backing track to TOSOD that Bench used in their BTS vid. Download mp3 HERE. (Thx. Abrra & @weiyannn!)

Wow I didn’t even know a studio version existed. I actually bought my first iPod just to buy our David’s studio versions but I never noticed iTunes of the group numbers. Love our D’s voice in this. Both D’s sound great in it.

Shout to the Lord. I am not surprised that the shouting was originally delegated to Cook (kidding–sort of). The studio version, which I have never heard either, is polished up perfectly with Davidโ€™s voice. Thank you, @betsyjane79!

BTW, David comes home next month. (I just wanted to write that.) ๐Ÿ™‚

I like pretty much anything backed by a big gospel choir. On a less spiritual note, those white outfits were some of the weirdest. And yes, I agree w/ your tag, “David Archuleta Shouts to the Lord Bettah.” Praise be!!

Whaa? Wait…whoohoo…an archived surprise?! Yayyy~It’s like my birthday in Feb…tku tku tku~TOfan and to betsyjane! That is awesome…the rehearsal, the finished version (I had forgotten about this! I don’t even recall it…I think I missed taping Idol Gives Back night that year, and had even forgotten they had it that year!) Let me start by saying something I always say and still feel today, especially when seeing this group of Idols again….even aside from my LOVE for David that year…I just always got the best vibe from this top 10, in its entirety, than any other Idol year, previous and since. To me, they were just a bunch of good spirits, and combined, a cool group. Most of them seemed to have more going for them than just trying to get famous, and it emanated from them. Just my take, and still feel it today watching them.
I liked most of them….I LOVVVVED DAVID A…but did like Brooke, Carly (she sounds wonderful in this!), Jason, Cook and Michael Johns and the others not bad too. Loved Season 7 best, still…of course because of David A, but as a whole too.
Highlighted or not, (he so should have been, #missed opportunity), I still hear the strains of that sweet VOICE in there. And I LOL when, whoever that guy is, (musical director?), punches David in the arm after singing his part (sublimely!!) in that last video. Chuckled to myself thinking, poor “little David”, he was always getting punched in the arm that year, by Ryan and others…like…wow, kid..did you REALLY just DO THAT?!! Hahhhaa…and David’s classic surprised response, like “What?!…I do?” He’s priceless. I still fee that way….did you REALLY just DO THAT?!! LOL
Violet…I had just been given my first iPod that year too…and David’s “Smokey Mt. Memories” (still my favorite) video was the first thing I downloaded and for a bit, the only thing I had on my iPod…playing it over and over!….until I downloaded everything else after that! But I didn’t have this…….’til….now! Thanks again! :)))

wow, guys, and here I thought I was the only one who’d missed this! amb4da, I totally agree about Season 7, it seemed special somehow… and I always hoped David, Jason & Brooke would tour together… acoustic of course ๐Ÿ™‚

off-topic but the lovely muldur is sharing her Providence soundcheck vid for TMH from the Demi tour for a limited time only … awesome audio!

I’d like to thank Abrra for her lovely mp3 of STTL. There are so many gems in her folder. ๐Ÿ™‚
I never ever tire of this one. They ALL sound good.
    But David. He just shines.
One more thing. I don’t remember any other season of idol where the singers had a moment like this. It’s really good.
Not that I’ve seen every season, but still.

Ah….love Shout To The Lord. I’ve been listening to that beautiful song since way back when, must have bought it when it was originally available. They all did a fantastic job on that song and when David’s voice shines in, makes my heart perk up. I agree, that season was a special one, not only because of David of course but really enjoyed the entire top ten team, they were great!
…thanks to Muldur for sharing her wonderful soundcheck vid!

Check out David’s official site if you haven’t lately….they have a very cool contest going on.
