I know that many of you supported ChildFund International last December when David Archuleta partnered with the charity for his My Kind of Christmas Tour.
I just wanted to let Canadian fans know that ChildFund’s Canadian branch, Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC), is currently offering charitable gifts that have 4X the impact, thanks to a matching program by the Canadian government. They’re matching donations on everything from school books and art kits to mosquito nets and warm blankets.
When I saw a reference to the matching program in the CCFC catalogue I got in the mail (also available online HERE), I emailed CCFC for more info, and this is what I found out:
Thanks for your email and interest in our gift catalogue.Β Regarding the matching grant we have received from the Government of Canada, more information on the projects these gift catalogue items will be directed to can be found on the CIDA website here: CIDA.
So yes, when you purchase those specific items from the catalogue, or donate to our LEAP program in Ethiopia, for example, the government of Canada will kick in $3 for every $1 you donate.
We appreciate your interest and hope that the matching grant motivates you to give this year.
I know that not everyone will be able to donate this year but just in case you were thinking about it, just wanted to let you guys know.
And a big Happy Thanksgiving this week to our American friends and neighbours!!! (And to David too, of course π )
Thanks TOfan!!! An awesome cause and so good to hear about the Canadian government’s matching program!!! win win!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate this weekend!!
Thanks for the awesome info TOfan, I love when the Govt kicks in and helps important causes! This makes me want to give….and I will. I have the pleasure of giving through another organization where I sponsor a child in Africa but I definitely want to give to CCFC too. You’ve educated me, I didn’t know that CCFC was ChildFund’s Canadian branch. Such great causes.
….and yes, happy Thanksgiving to all our friends south of the border! Wishing David the same too. π
