Love that picture up top! Yes, it is a time to celebrate for sure. To rejoice, to listen, to sing, to be grateful and proud. Proud of that young man, who, with the heart and passion to sing and to share that glorious voice of his with the privileged many who are willing and fortunate to embrace it all.
Grateful to that young man for following his dream, wherever it took him….and look where it has taken him! I hope the world will embrace this incredible music and find the tremendous beauty in it.
I think the PBS special will thoroughly delight and even astonish some people, those who are not necessarily familiar (or too familiar) with David and those who are but have not been following him may be pleasantly surprised and moved to places within their hearts (how could they not be)?
Very happy and excited for David….bravo, bravo!
Still waiting for my DVD to arrive (will be sometime in September), oh…cannot wait!

Had to click on David’s glow-ey face and order more CDs for gifting (love doing that and love this post)!
Thank you David for allowing me to start my Christmas shopping early. You couldn’t have picked a better or easier gift to choose. ❤

“I think the PBS special will thoroughly delight and even astonish some people” … could not agree more, peppertara! 🙂 🙂 🙂

…aaaaaaand a new vlog … had no idea David’s sister suffered from Crohn’s disease:

    More info:
The Glad Christmas Tidings CD and DVD is out now! Also have a few events coming up this next week. Also had a question about my sister who has Crohn’s disease, and if anyone happens to know more about it I’d appreciate it!

An EP would be wonderful, especially to coincide with his Christmas tour! Always love David’s vlogs and when he mentions ‘special project’ that always means something incredibly good (more music).
That’s a shame about his sister, hope she gets just the right kind of help and info that she needs.

Have a feeling (like a lot of others) that the GCT CDs (or DVDs)? that David signed will probably be offered during the PBS special as their thank you gift for a donation. If that’s the case I will be by the phone. 🙂

So this is the Washington Gala that David mentioned in his vlog (now posted on the OS! 🙂 ) … it’s a foundation started by Jimmy Smits, who introduced David at the Capital Fourth event two years ago:

“David Archuleta will be performing at the 15th Annual Noche de Gala Dinner on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. The evening will begin with a VIP reception at 6:30 p.m. with dinner following at 7:30 p.m. The Gran Desvelada After-Party will top the evening with music and dancing afterwards. This black-tie Gala benefits the foundation’s various activities that include its scholarship program. For more information, please visit the foundation’s website at http://www.HispanicArts.org .”

Please let there be ninja videographers in that crowd!

So excited about all the activities coming up.
Got my third DVD today!! I’ll probably wear one out. So nice to watch every evening.

Yes sorry about David’s sister. Have seen lots of helpful responses and resources.

    Hello Snowangelz! Good tidings!
    I’m obsessed with Gesu Bambino.
Needed to find the lyrics… and, ahem, “duet” with David!

When blossoms flower e’er ‘mid the snows,
    Upon a winter night,
Was born the child, the christmas rose,
The king of love and light.
The angels sang, the shepherds sang,
    The grateful earth rejoiced;
And at his blessed birth the stars
    Their exultation voiced.

    Chorus:
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
    Christ the lord.

Again the heart with rapture glows
    To greet the holy night,
That gave the world it’s christmas rose,
Its king of love and light
Let ev’ry voice acclaim his name,
    The grateful chorus swell
From paradise to earth he came
That we with him might dwell.

    Chorus

Nice to see the AZ concert getting some local press! 🙂

“With a big-name headliner, a $90,000 budget and a 10th anniversary billing, Constitution Week USA plans its biggest-yet celebration in Gilbert next week.

“It’s all about education,” organizer Jared Taylor said. “It’s to remind people of the freedom and liberty that came to us as a result of the Constitution.”

Similar to previous years, a full program of seminars, school presentations, a theatrical show, art show and workshops will culminate Sept. 17 with the Constitution Fair at the Town Center.

The “American Idol” Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta is the marquee headliner for the fair.

As Constitution Week grows, organizers will strive to bring in bigger entertainment names, Taylor said, adding that Archuleta, who will perform a 40-minute concert that will include numbers from his new album, “The Other Side of Down,” has a large following around the world.

Organizers expect about 10,000 people at the fair, up from the estimated 8,000 who attended last year.

Great week coming up for David…..DC gala (would love a video)! Arizona concert (love the great promo in the ads) and very happy for the fans who will be attending. The love for David in his first U.S. concert in a while will flow!
That sweet pic of David and Lisa Murray and her tweets are lovely!

bluebar…..I’m somewhat obsessed with Gesu Bambino too! Listen to it over and over, just so beautiful in it’s entirety and David is so perfect, professional and masterly in his performance…stunning, just one of the most gorgeous things to listen to. Great to see all the words there, I missed on some of them, ha. All of his songs are sublime.
