Don’t know this artist or his music … or how to speak Spanish… but can I just say…

SI to David singing in Spanish

SI to more serenades at the Archie Piano

SI to more serenades period

SI to that “cry” in his voice 😭😭😭

SI to #scruffchuleta

SI to HEARING THE WHOLE SONG!!!!!!!

SI to David’s positive vibes lately

SI to that cool way David clips the end of some of the Spanish phrases in the song, not easy to do, not sure if this makes any sense

but a big

NO to David wearing a red suit and polka dot ascot for his Spanish album cover… of course, I’d still buy it tho’ πŸ™‚

How about you guys??? What did you think? What does the song mean, btw? πŸ™‚

    Loved this vid!!!
LOL at the album cover…that has to be from the 80’s.
Also have to say I cracked up at your β€˜mkay’ .

  2. Sheila says:

Oops I see that album was just released!
Maybe the cover has something to do with the tribute to Juan Gabriel.

    Deaaaaaaaad = Meurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrto!! (I think)
(I loved college Spanish, and did well…does it serve me now?! NO!…b’cuz it was back in the dark ages!) (must listen to Rosetta Stone cds before Spanish album arrives!!)
    that said…
Si, si’, siiiii’ to the “little cry in his voice.” Always. ❀ ❀
And now that you mention that "little clipped thing"…so glad you did…there is a song I cannot even think which one now (maybe more than one…I think he also did the clipped thing in a Christmas song once also)..anyway, there's a song he does that in…and it fascinates me every time! It not only sounds fantastic, but I always wonder how he managed to "clip" it "like that." Not surprised, but so glad I'm not the only one here who notices (ok, maybe obsesses) over these little/big things. :))
Speaking of "the little things I notice"…did he just change his profile to "Tennessee?" (I could swear I only last week thought why does he still have "sort of Utah"…

And SI SI' to all the rest! (red suit/ ascot notwithstanding) (I'd still buy it too.)

  4. amb4da says:

Oh, nevermind…still has “kinda Utah” on Twitter…that’s IG above.

Ahhhh, lovely. And may I say Si to the lovely hands? I found a translation at this link:

  6. missbianca says:

Oh, on the clipping thing…am I nuts or did David get a criticism from Simon who said he needed to do it more on pop songs? Meh. I am nuts.

I should have looked first. It was Paula… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc0taz7Tyq4

Awwww…I think he “did a great job”, too, Paula!
I always loved that. But…how far he’s come too..
What Paula was saying was to clip the words in a pop phrase so they weren’t too ballad like. But what I’m thinking of are some songs where he exentuates the end of a phrase in a quick clip, cut-off…oh man…I’m as clear as mud here…I’ll have to find it “out there” if I can…

A big thanks to Ximena! *off to listen again* 😭😭😭
