omigosh, you guys. There was so much to be upset and outraged and scared and bewildered by in 2017, but one constant throughout the year that just kept getting better and better was…. well, I’ll let you finish that sentence. Hint: It starts with David and ends with Archuleta.

For social media highlights we have David’s Insta stories and viral twitter videos and carpool karaoke jamming and scruff pondering … and just when we think we know this guy he surprises us with even deeper thoughts, and growing out facial hair, and eating poutine and helping more kids in need and Showbiz Shelley reunions and onstage Elevator jams with fans and Love Loud shoutouts and DANCING IN A MUSIC VIDEO???!!! (Excuse me, not dancing, “moooovement”)
I think the biggest highlight for me this year was to see David having so much FUN with it all!
Owning who he is and what he stands for and being okay with all of us supporting him all these years… not just okay with it but thanking us… I mean, we don’t need thanks, it’s pure joy to be his fan, for me, anyway, but it sure feels lovely to hear that he appreciates and feels encouraged by that support.
To see him get braver and braver and share so much of himself with us, the serious stuff and the goofy, is just such a gift that I hope I never take for granted. Being in the moment is never so joyous as when you’re listening to his music, watching one of his random Insta stories or (blessing of blessings), being at one of his concerts.
I finally got to meet in person even more lovely and amazing David fans this year, and reconnect with treasured long-time fan friends, {{{{{group hug}}}} to one and all.
Now here is what the point of this post was in the first place, hahahaha.

This is one of my favorite pics of David. Been there, loved Paris. Would love to challenge my French with the pre-event livestream but 5 pm in Paris is 8 am here–that would be a challenge for me. For you in the Eastern timezone, that would be 11 am and surely doable.

But ohmyheck, you guys, he is just so sweet and genuine and precious, I mean, we know all this, so why does it hit me like a tidal wave every time and put branches in my eyes?? … the way he looks over and acknowledges the translator is just so sweet and thoughtful… NO ONE ever does that… even the way he speaks in even, rhythmic sections then pauses to make it easier for the translator?? … I don’t even get me started on BSMS, oh man.

I have absolutely no complaints about what went on in the @DavidArchie world in 2017 … NONE!!! It was an amazing year!!!!
As for 2018? I fully expect the same and more. More music, more concerts, more interviews, more fun times. I can’t wait!!! How lucky we are to be a part of his world! 🙂 ♥ 🙂

He was totally precious and adorbs speaking and singing for the church service. Such a sweet tender smile. How can you not love this guy.
David is just genuinely sweet, thoughtful and sincere in what he shares. I admire his dedication to his faith and what is sacred to him. No matter what your beliefs are, he is truly someone to be respected and admired. His heartfelt expression is a testament to his faith and also to his wonderful character.
His songs were beautiful, BSMS always gets to me, I think my favourite hymn I have heard him sing. Love that he sang the French carol. I grew up listening to that one. Love the way he sings it.

TOfan, I have been kind of stalking this post. But I showed up here this morning with the sole intent to say thank you for your thoughts (Amen!) and this collection of 2017 David memories. I’m not going to scroll through them for the umpteenth time. I’m not going to get distracted from my mission. I’m not going to wallow in my own David memories or get all weepy at the reminders of David’s incredible goodness. I will not let myself even begin to think that David’s 2018 might top 2017, even if it did start in Paris. I just want to say thank you for this post, which was awesome, not a pop culture cliché kind of awesome, but genuinely awesome. ❤
