So. A new vlog. A new vlog from his sisters’ bathroom.
I think that’s one of the things that keeps me around as a fan… beyond the music, of course. How genuine David is. Delivering some serious news… he’s going to Costa Rica on a special project, then to the Middle East to entertain the U.S. troops … from the bathroom.
It feels like a whole new era here and yet… still the same quirkiness. Love that.
To me, it’s clear David still doesn’t want things to be “all about him” … for a little while longer anyway… and that must make it hard to know what to do with “fans,” since the very nature of being a well-known artist with a fan-base is that, for we fans, it is all about David.
But if he wants to stay in the background and let whatever music he releases speak for itself without bringing a lot of attention to himself, I say, “Bravo!” You do it your way, David. And we’ll just have to adjust… maybe dial back on things ourselves. Summer seems a good time to do that.

Whatever makes David truly happy, as an artist and as a public/private person, I’ll support him 101 % all the way. I just hope we get quick updates of his performances from time to time. Good luck DA, I pray that He bless & protect you always…
If I’m being 100% honest, it does feel like a brand new era… one that maybe does not include us. Sometimes it feels like David would prefer to have a brand new set of fans… we belong to the old era, the idol era and he’s obvs moved on from that and maybe doesn’t want reminders (ie us). Out with the old and all that. I hope I’m wrong.
So the missionary haircut becomes the military cut? 🙂
I don’t know about a new era or anything but I think this Middle East tour will provide a wonderful “safe” space in which David can get his “pop” chops back. I mean, let’s face it, how long has it been since he’s given a full pop performance? He’s bound to be nervous about it and this way, he doesn’t have to worry about selling tickets or getting a band together, he can just get his “sea legs” back as it were.
We love you! I’m ready to ride whatever wave he creates and can’t wait to hear and see him live again!

David is like a grab bag with a guarantee. You don’t know what you’re going to get, but you know it will never be not fun.
I’m absolutely sure David wants his old fans or he would not have kept his social media going while he was gone on his mission. But, I’m sure he’d like to make new fans too. I’m ready for this new era. Bring on the music, David! That’s what we are all waiting for.

Still scratching my head about why he’s doing the vlog from his sister’s “dirty bathroom”. Why? Just do not get it. Teenage girls are known to be messy with stuff like hairbrushes, curling irons, hair products, mascara, towels, etc, strewn about in their rooms and bathrooms, so why risk embarrassing his sisters this way?
Other than that, I was happy to hear the reason for the vlog. 😀
Enjoyed the news of David singing for the troops. Read it on Twitter and Good Day Utah first, thanks to our Ninja Archies. When David posted his Vlog, I was so pleased he was confirming the news and adding the bit about Costa Rica.
Felt a little bad that David was so perplexed about how to make a Vlog. Can’t even imagine all that he is adjusting to and know he has lots on his mind.

That was a sweet vlog….informative, humorous, inspiring, had me laughing at the end. Wow, good for David, entertaining the troops! I’m sure they will appreciate it and really enjoy. May he and the team he is travelling with have a great time and stay safe. Will be interesting to hear more later about the Costa Rica project.
As for a new ‘era’, maybe in a sense it will be, that’s okay though. We knew David was bound to change somewhat and of course grow in to a fine, more mature young man. Any way he wants to live his life and career is good, the singing will still be there, thankfully…and so will I.
Video blog in a bathroom? Haha, why not. Gotta love the relationship he has with his siblings.

TOfan – That song is just too funny. Let me know when he finds her, I need to hire her to clean my bathroom. I also think he’s doing a music video in Costa Rica. I, too, hope it’s the Spanish song. There’s just something magical that happens when he sings in Spanish. It’s like when he did the face-2-face in Spanish. He’s so much more animated. Can’t wait to see what’s going on.
