True confessions: My Top 25 Most Played Songs

k, so I often play this playlist because, well, since they are my top-25 most played songs, odds are, I like listening to them. (Can you spot the one thing that’s not like the other? πŸ™‚ )

Here goes:

The Prayer (1st one)

Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Myrtle Beach)

O Ven, O Ven Emmanuel

Reaching Out
This is the only song from Forevermore on my Top 25… it was not my favourite in the beginning but the more I heard it, the more I had to listen to it… again … and again. There’s just such a cool groove to it. And his voice sounds extra chocolatey or something in it… and when he gets to the “I can’t stop don’t know how to stahhhhhp thinking of yoOuOuoOOuuUuuUUU” *DEADDD*. Check it out, you’ll see. πŸ™‚

Love Don’t Hate

Waiting on the World to Change (with Jeff LeBlanc)

Drummer Boy (Dapo version)

Stomping the Roses (live, Myrtle Beach)

Silent Night, Chile

The Other Side of Down (live, Myrtle Beach)

Z100 Elevator

Drummer Boy (feisty Spanish version)

Gotta Get Thru This / Blackbird / MKOP/ WFM (all Myrtle Beach)

WOTWTC (w/Jeff LeBlanc)

Good Place/Let It Be (Verona VIP)

Down To The River To Pray (O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack)

Mary Did You Know (Spanish)

Los Pastores A Belen (Chile version)

My Hands / Complain (Myrtle Beach)

O Ven Rehearsal

Notice Me

How about you guys? What songs are on your Top 10 most played?? Any surprises on your Top 25?

p.s.

Reaching Out is in my top two from Forevermore (I also like Tell Me). It’s funny because I don’t especially like the song itself, but his voice is just amazing on it. I can’t believe I still listen to Christmas music in June, but still have to break out O Ven, O Ven and the Dapo Drummer Boy now and then.

  2. peppertara says:

Oh do like your list Tofan. Actually “Reaching Out” is one of my faves to listen to, have always loved it and yes it’s that creamy, rich, chocolatey smooth pudding perfected voice and style (who else sings like that) always on repeat for me, wish the song was longer actually! I listen and I don’t want to miss a note, requires my complete attention. I so agree!
I alternate with my favourites but definitely some of the Spanish songs he has sung these past two years are favourites to listen to now. Heck, that voice in song is a favourite. πŸ™‚

It’s funny that you have As I Went Down to the River to Pray on your list. I have that on my iPod by Allison Krauss, too. There’s also a version of it on one of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir albums I have on my iPod. They are the only ones I have more music from than David. That’s probably just because they’ve recorded more than he has. As far as a favorite by him, that’s a hard pick for me. It mostly depends on my mood and what I feel like hearing at the time. Right now, I would say, O Ven rehearsal is on top. But tomorrow, it could be something else.

z100 elevator! YES!!! Love it so much!

Also Verona Good Place/ Let it Be = ❀

Angels studio version from his debut album is soooo far and beyond any other one on my playlist and is hands down #1… It's because I taught myself like 5 years ago to fall asleep to it, so whenever I can't sleep I put it on repeat and listen to it all night. LOL works like a charm! I still do it! LOL

  5. Spirit says:

TOfan….Your list includes many of my favorites, too. Reaching Out gets the most repeats from me on the Forevermore album. I especially like the way he so effortlessly goes from his upper to lower register in several parts. Angel and True Colors are my favorites on the Begin album. Some of his acoustic performances are on my list…..I’ll Be ……and the Christmas songs that he did at the end of his performances during the Jingle Jams. Love the way he just belts these out…pitch perfect…..and the crowd reaction. Although they are not songs, I like to listen to many of his interviews and his speech given at the Women’s Conference.

Oh Brother Where Art Thou is one of my favorite movies and I really love the soundtrack, too!

  6. Tina says:

Your list is fab! Reaching Out has kind of a 90s R&B vibe to it — I think it fits David’s voice very well. My fav from Forevermore will always be the live version of Wherever You Are though. The wiiiiind the blows the dove is the wiiiiiiiiind that blows my loooove, hope it’ll find its way to you wherever you aaarrree ❀

    My top 5 most played:
    O Ven Rehearsal
Wherever You Are (Live from Talentadong Pinoy)
    Broken
Maria Sabias Que — HIS VOICE ON THIS wow lower register smexiness my heart
    Crazy & EWTRTW from CASBAA

Clearly I have a real thing for live performances…

    • TOfan says:

eeeee, you just reminded me of my fave Forevermore … even the way he thanks Jay Durias, lol. I just wish we had a clearer recording of it … so much screaming! lol

      • Tina says:

Yes girl YES!! This performance is actually my fav but the audio is not as good as from the tv show appearance. Tragic.

Of the vids we do have, I think this one has the cleanest audio:

The little riffs and the high notes. He kills me. What a jerk.

        • TOfan says:

oooooo, that audio is clearer, thanks!!! …that one part where he breaks “are” into three notes scaling up knocks me dead every time, and he only did it here so it’s not like he practiced it like that or anything… we need to hear him sing live again soon gahhhh

Oh I am such a sucker for a list!!
I love it when he soars ( I soar right along with him) I love songs where I feel “the story” and yes, everything else and in between on any given day!!
I was listening to Tell Me today in the car. What a story he tells. At the beginning his voice is tight and controlled just as if he is sharing something difficult to say. Then “it” is said and his voice begins to resonate. Then the pain pours out. You can just feel the betrayal and anguish. Oh my. Luckily there wasn’t much traffic, cause I was tearing up just listening.

  10. Poof says:

Looking at my list, it is just boggling the range of styles he excels at. I am not sure that makes things easier for him, but it is sure great for me.

  11. Utahmom says:

I’ve been catching up, reading the last several posts, and just wanted to say a heartfelt “Thank you”! Loved every single word, idea and punctuation mark! So glad I stopped by when I had some unexpected downtime. Not only have I enjoyed a chuckle or two, but my heart feels lighter. I know I’ll be rereading the article about starting over. Already had to reread a few earlier posts as well. Sometimes, once is not enough, especially at Snowangelzz!
