I still love TOSOD. I still listen to it. A lot. Not just because it’s David but because I love the songs. Especially the Asia Tour Edition because just when I think it’s at the end … *SURPRISE!* … there’s more!

Still laughing at the ‘we love Melinda’ bit.
OK, had to stop this wonderful vlog just to say “YES!” to David’s “really feelin’ the PA/CT area right now!” and to that I say “Come Baaaaack… quickly and often, baby!!!” :)) Ok, I realize it was all about the “fall leaves thing” in that moment, but little ole CT doesn’t often get thrown into the “favorite place to visit” from someone who’s traveled this country~so for this I ❤ you, all over again, Mr. A.
And PA is the last place I saw David, MKOC in Stroudsburg…good memories. So I say…it's fall now, the trees are starting to look pretty here, and I'm SO ready for a concert, but I will wait….2014, 2014, 2014. 🙂
Ok, now that I got that out…back to the vlog and later my thoughts on TOSOD…cuz, I'm always with you TOfan on this one….TOSOD is the unsung, (pun intended), hero of David's catalogue, and I'm still not over that it didn't get it's due. I listen to it ALL the time, it's one of my favorite of his cds. (Do I have a favorite?…maybe I need a new word to describe it..) Tks for constantly posting about TOSOD…maybe it helps sell a few more cds.
I love TOSOD, too, of course. Sometimes I get a little lost in Look Around or Who I Am especially. I’m a David lyric afficianado, especially when he works with Joy. Like you TOfan, his own stuff is my favorite.
And I love any rambling, high spirited chit chat. What’s not to love?
Love TOSOD, good to celebrate it! A great piece of work IMO and so many of those songs really shine, listen to it often. Love Good Place, one of my fave songs he has ever recorded. The whole album is something special. Aw….remember that live chat, a good time! Think that was an exciting, fun, proud time for David as it should have been…and for many of us. Love what he says about Canada. 🙂 Then there is his food talk, always a pleasure to listen to, haha.

Has it really been three whole years? Fun watching that chat again, I think my favorite part is just seeing our David so excited and giddy about his new album coming out and seeing so many fans bombarding him with questions and love. Would love him to do a “welcome home” chat when he gets back but we’d probably crash his computer. 🙂
TOSOD is my favorite album that David has done. I loved David’s chat too. I so hope he does chats and vlogs when he gets back. I love the random singing and his quirky personality. He is just refreshing.
why did Melinda keep trying to get him to say something about Katy Perry? lol You could see the wheels turning in David’s head struggling to think of something nice to say and still be honest. And he managed to come up with something! 🙂
Everything that he says in the chat is my favourite right at the end! I love how he’s so humble, and still so enthusiastically promotes Bruno Mars’ album 🙂

I don’t think I ever saw that live chat~I thoroughly enjoyed it! …(VeeBee123) “his random rambly-ness”, I never get enough of. (Mandaberry) the “high-spirited chit-chat; what’s not to love”, Yes, that too. The random singing “STUCK!…” LOL!!..from which he quickly, distractedly segued, and I haven’t a clue what song that was going to be?! “I’m flyyyying”…oh David…never stop random singing; never stop being YOU. 🙂 Love at the end when he brushes Melinda off about plugging the cd…giggling, “they KNOW it’s in stores now…” just struck me as humbly real, and assertive. (Though the thought did cross my mind…maybe the universe needed a little more TOSOD plugging!)
TOSOD…every time the topic of favorite song comes up my answer starts something like…”well of course SBL should’ve been a radio hit”, “I love GP”, but actually “Look Around and Who I Am” were instantly my favorites (beyond SBL), “but MKOP is such a perfect David love song!”, “oh and I love Complain”…it’s futile picking. What I truly love and why I can’t really pick ONE (or even two favorites) is that this album achieved what David intended, and worked so hard and thoughtfully to do…it’s a beautiful, cohesive cd. It has a message & positive vibe that runs through it, of uplifting, catchy & emotional melodies and lyrics. It’s such a well-written, complete package, that I enjoy it as a whole. (I feel that way about NMHF too…I think David’s good at this, in an old school album way…albums used to be more cohesive and themed, before digital downloads of singles took over. He takes you on a musical journey through his cds.) Not because I’m a rabid fan…but because it’s what I truly believe…TOSOD really is better than the numbers showed… quality music and well-songs here. And, imho, it stands the test of time…still sounds fresh to me.
Any “bad promotion, Jive internal changes etc, notwithstanding”, I never understood those “numbers”…with so many more DA fans than that…how were those numbers not higher? (Even with any tweens downloading for free)
He was so excited about this cd, and though he’s moved on…I still wish somehow, someday it’d get noticed again and get it’s due.

And regarding the “numbers,” you reminded me that during the online pre-sale (where you got that memory box 😯 ), the site wasn’t working for Canadians for a full month and I sent an email to customer service telling them that they might wonder why their orders from Canada were “0” and then *presto* it got fixed. But who knows what other glitches were going on. Not trying to make excuses… well, I guess I am, lol. But something funky was going on there.

TOSOD has such a special place in my heart. We got SO MUCH good music — and, as was mentioned earlier, not even just the regular album but the bonus songs on the Asian Tour Edition AND two of my fav underrated songs, Nothing Else Better To Do (Japanese release of TOSOD) and The Day After Tomorrow (iTunes preorder bonus track).
I do hate that more people haven’t heard the songs from this amazing album. And, selfishly, I hate that it didn’t sell more because we were robbed of a tour after it’s release. Too many of my favorites have never been performed live or have been performed only a few times. One day I want to hear David sing Everything & More live. And Who I Am. And NEBTD. And Parachutes & Airplanes. And Love Don’t Hate. {And then she died} 😉

Thanks for the video, I almost had forgotten david greeting, in the first video, near the end, 13.38 .. That day I cried so much and was so happy. I knew there was no greater happiness than that, The first time I saw David was a dream come true. Thanks for memories.
