good question, DJ!!! one thing I did learn recently is that a left-handed guitar has the pick guard to the left of the strings (sounds obvious now, lol)
Wonderful gift, the vlog; unexpected. I have always admired David being who he is and showing it to anyone who will look and listen. Very pensive, quite allegorical, and in thinking about it also in the spiritual tract, so it makes sense…he is on a spiritual journey (his mission) and he is leaving his musical journey…that’s gotta be bitter-sweet.
One of the things that keeps me coming back for more is just that…the growth and maturation and it is all out there for the world to see…so brave, so laudable, so astonishing. The courage in all of this is simply inspirational.
And the word “begin” first and foremost always means to me “Begin at the beginning,” the King said, very gravely, “and go on till you come to the end: then stop” (Lewis Carroll, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”). And that is quite allegorical for me in this instance…falling down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world populated by unique characters; playing with logic…that’s the adventure I’ve been on since 2008….although I’ve been the one in the wonderland, hahahaha. But I haven’t got to the “end” yet.
And so I gotta believe that “Begin” means just that, no ending, no stopping, but a beginning of new chapters. What those chapters reveal is yet to be seen.
Life is sooooo good! Whether it’s a beginning, a middle or an end, it’s all about living to the max, where the heart leads.

“The courage in all of this is simply inspirational” … it sure is, Kiz. … And thanks for the quote from Alice, you’re right, lots of parallels 😆 … as far as “Begin” meaning no ending but a beginning of new chapters, it reminded me of a comment of JR’s on the WOTWTC vid from Beaver Creek:
“Rather than a circle, am imagining a spiral. David comes back to where he started but steps up for the next phase. To remind us that he is nothing but deliberate and nothing but going forward.”
I remember JR’s spiral analogy. Very apropos. Spirals in all cultures throughout history, even with earliest relics, are part of their spiritual lore. The circle of life and beyond the veil. Hahaha, getting too philosophical this fine Saturday morning. Love ya!
Love your reaction and analysis Kizzi and your response Tofan. Love the way David so carefully explained it and I felt so appreciative of his desire to travel with him on this Journey. I’m continually amazed. So cute to tending to his dogs needs who probably sensed he was getting ready to leave.
I didn’t remember JR’s reaction to WOTWTC at Beaver Creek. I feel so fortunate to have been there and now rather than just a full circle moment, I can visualize the spiral. It was so profound to see the growth in David from Hollywood Week where we fell in love with him and Beaver Creek as an adult performer so confident jamming with his Opening Act!!
..and back to BEGIN. I have even more understanding and appreciation now.

The one thing that will always resound with me is that BEGIN came out the day after my Mom passed and that his voice blessed my entire family> BSMS echoing through out the very large church …… again, no words

Just love the great comments from everyone on David and his wonderful video blog. Aww….what a sweet surprise, yes! Almost like old times…”Hey guys, it’s David here.” If you can truly define sincere, it has to be David. Love his explanation of BEGIN. and the way he wants to include his fans in this process with him in his own sweet way. Couldn’t be more endearing. So much to love about his message. Gotta love those pups too!
A good friend of mine knows what a fan I am (have certainly talked about David enough, lol) and have gifted her all his music, etc. She does enjoy his lovely voice but is not the huge fan that I am. She sent me a message recently though that I thought was sweet. She said:
“I love that you love David’s voice and music. He can rest assured knowing that the work he is pouring most of his life energies into, is anything but in vain. I wish him God-speed on his mission as I do you on yours.”
True, nothing David has done or is doing is in vain. Quite the opposite and we are all on a kind of mission in life and we can always….BEGIN. Thanks for always beginning these great posts TOfan. 🙂
