BEGIN.

Not Begin, Begin! or Begin? … but BEGIN.

Do not pass GO. Do not collect $200. BEGIN. Like, NOW.

However you interpret David Archuleta’s new album that’s coming our way in August … WE ARE GETTING A NEW ALBUM IN AUGUST!!!!!!

This painting was a wedding present (my niece contributed the Post-it)… I’ve always loved the words on it. 🙂

I’m torn between needing to hear it as soon as is humanly possible, and wishing it was coming out during that giant black hole also known as 2013.

According to the OS, there are covers and original tracks … “tracks” plural, did you all catch that? (But of course you did, you are David Archuleta fans! hahaha)

We know “Bridge Over Troubled Water” is one track. It is also likely that BEGIN. is the title of one of the original songs. The last original song we heard from David was Fa La La La … which I LOVED. There’s only really been one of David’s original songs that I haven’t loved *cough*SBL*cough* but I’m trying to keep my expectations low because that has served me well in the past. It’s dang hard though, isn’t it?

.

Good thing I’m still stuck on Forevermore. My favourites haven’t changed much. Rainbow still on top, closely followed by YAMS, Tell Me, Reaching Out, I’ll Never Go, Hold On and Maybe. I put WYA, Forevermore and Nandito Ako in their own separate category, for some reason. Maybe because we heard them first? They’re beautiful too.

I still can’t get over the fact that he recorded all this in the short time before he left. Who does that???

So is anyone planning to “ration” their listening of BEGIN. over a few weeks or months? How do you interpret the title?? Is anyone else shocked it’s only been 5 weeks that he’s been gone?? Paper or plastic? 🙂

BEGIN…as in “again” or “new”…. or “ready, set, go”… so intriguing!!

David TOSOD title had a very specific meaning plus was a track on the album. So, yes, definitely a great chance it is an original song
…ummm, is there a cover called “Begin?”

5 weeks went fast. Just gotta do that 20 more times 😀

“5 weeks went fast. Just gotta do that 20 more times”. I like your thinking! It has a much more manageable sound to it.

  2. Excited about it and not good at rationing songs!! Love the Title BEGIN. I’m thinking it is a song in the album. (dah!)
Loving Forevermore.(favorites You Are My Song, Tell Me and NanditoAko) Like Rainbow but the beginning Musical part threw me off initially and it takes some of the pleasure away at the beginning of the song.
I have a feeling they have planned things out pretty well. Hoping for more surprises in 2013 but taking it one day at a time.

I DITTO this … just one day at a time and one foot in front of the other 🙂

I LOVE the title. Idk maybe because August (or September) is when I BEGIN. real non-student life? It just fits. I am feeling it already 🙂

I am happy about the timing, the sooner the better if you ask me. We’ll get it in August but I won’t be sick of it (am I ever sick of David songs?) in 2013. I think it’s a good release date. I doubt I’ll ration it, but who knows, might change my mind on that one.

  4. deb.. where do i BEGIN??? you do not like SBL. say wut? we need to talk lol. SBL is ma jam!!!

with regards to your question.. i plan on listening one song per month so that gives me something to look forward to until middle of next year. at least that’s the plan. but i’m WEAK so i’ll probably be listening to leaks before the official release lol

    • TOfan says:

eeeek, sorry, I should’ve qualified that… the live acoustic version (so basically the song itself) I do like… I think it’s just the production of the one on the cd that doesn’t grab me.

I like your rationing plan… I’ll think of it like Lent, hahahahaha.

I have been expecting overlapping “black holes” since the mission announcement, so when I saw the new album announcement this morning, I didn’t quite know how to react. I kind of launched into involuntary giddiness.

“Another gift? For me? So soon! Awww, David, you shouldn’t have! Why, I’m just one of more than a million of your minions. I am honored, excited… (Insert random stammering here.) Thanks, David; thanks a ton. You’re the best! Can I have it now?”

I love—LOVE—the cryptic title. BEGIN. I am hoping it is a song; but whatever it means, it is mysteriously and authoritatively definitive. Booyah!

Come August 7, will I ration out my listening? NO. I will leave that type of self-disciplined near-martyrdom to those who have years ahead of them. I have no time to waste.

  6. tawna21 says:

L.O.V.E the title. BEGIN. I’m wagering there’s a song. I can’t wait to hear what’s behind the title from the MAN himself. (hopefully sooner that 23 months from now)
If I can’t ration a king size candy bar, can I even consider rationing my listening to David’s new music? NOT EVEN!! One right after another! Yep!!

Such a simple word> BEGIN. I was overwhelmed for some reason when I first heard it….. seems so perfect for an album title for David but don’t ask me to explain why> I just feel it

    ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) peeps

    • greatbrit says:

“Such a simple word> BEGIN.” Yet with David, that simple word can hold so much power!

  8. refnaf says:

Forgot to say>>> no rationing for me… I want it all as soon as possible please

  9. peppertara says:

Love all the responses here. Another album…in August…3 months away! This is exciting news! Love the title too..a lot. Cryptic, well maybe but probably a new track on the album, new songs! His covers will be amazing too. Was not really expecting this album so soon but I am thrilled! No rationing for me, like archugeezer I have no time to waste, haha. Will leave the rationing for the younger fans If they choose. Nope, once David’s music is available, I jump right in, head first and my heart quickly follows and I am fully immersed.
tawna21…”If I can’t ration a king size candy bar, can I even consider rationing my listening to David’s new music?” Lol, know what you mean.
What a great post, the celebration BEGINs. Another new album within a short span of time. Wow.
Doubt there is any other artist out there more considerate, thoughtful, hard working and grateful to his fans. Think the plan will work…keep us all so immersed in an abundance of new music and we will not go hungry. As for 2013, well who knows what is in store. These albums alone could keep me going I think but have a feeling there may be a few other little surprises along the way. 🙂

  10. peppertara says:

Forgot to say I love the photo up top (of course) and my comment was getting too long, ha.
Also enjoy the painting you posted. Special words, yes. Sweet. Have a feeling the word BEGIN will take on a lot of new significance. 🙂

Love all the comments. You can feel the giddiness in the air – the release date **Aug 7** and the “mysteriously and authoritatively definitive” (perfect archugeezer) title. That rascally little period on the end really ups the intrigue. Hoping too that it is also a track title.

tofan, “giant black hole also known as 2013.”, lol!! And great wedding present, alot of wisdom in those 9 simple words.

Shot in the dark – maybe it’s about the beginning of complete freedom, a label-free zone. He can do it all his way. (period)

    Psalm 81:2

“Begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre.”

    (New International Version 1984)

As a young teen I remember sitting at the piano for an exam that happened once a year every year. All would be quiet with the examiner at his desk shuffling papers. I waited nervously to play one of the pieces for what seemed ages, until I heard him say “BEGIN”…The word brings it all back to me…

Happy David Archuleta Day, everyone!!!! It’s been trending worldwide and in Canada this morning, wooooot!!!!

    TT

… and as if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day… here’s a message from David!

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAND a pic from Kari!!!!

  14. SandyBeaches says:

In looking up the translation for the quote on the bracelet, there were different versions…One was …”You have become a part of my soul” and another would say…”You have become a part of my heart”! Then he confirms it himself…”A part of my heart is always with them”… So coool…All starting from the beloved song ‘Contigo En La Distancia’…

SnowAngelz, I just need you to connect with me!! thevoiceschat@yahoo.ca …for your mailing address.

What a beautiful day….WWTT, an awesome heartfelt tweet from David (through Kari), a sweet, sweet photo and a well deserved day of honour for David. Happy David Archuleta day!
SB…I love the words “You have become a part of my soul” and “You have become a part of my heart”. David definitely has a piece of our hearts too, oh doesn’t he though. ❤

  16. emmegirl14 says:

Middle of the week tweet – ♫ let the sun shine, let the sun shine in ♫
He is the sweetest thing. Can someone tell me what the (ks) stands for?
(I believe I am the only non-tweeter in this incredibly wonderful parallel universe we inhabit.)
