Just one more vlog from home for a while before I leave on my mission. It has been an emotional week with family and friends. Just wanted to thank all of you for the support you have giving me for the last 4 years. Will see you all in 2 years.

Aw….just love this TOfan….so warm, sweet, poignant and loving…..and so the 2 yr journey begins for dear David. Thoughts and prayers will be with him as he holds an abundance of love within his heart wherever he goes. His fans will all be wishing him well and and will be honoring him in so many ways while he is away…and 2014 will arrive before we know it. Time goes by so quickly (especially the older you get….maybe one advantage of being an older fan, lol).
“We will wait for you Forevermore”…..oh yes we will.
Hugs….and hugs to anyone who may need it. I’m sure David is giving and receiving lots of loving embraces before he leaves, enough to last him for a while. The virtual hugs from fans all over the world will go with him too. 🙂 Vaya con dios David.

I have the majorest mixed feelings today.
Awwwww on that last gif. Biiiiiig huuuuuugs to everyone. I’m actually okay today! I’m taking an hour long, very brisk walk in the early mornings and it has helped my mood. I’m going to miss that sweet guy so much and will pray for him whenever I think of him, which will be often. And I’m looking forward to the day when we’ll all come together (with two years’ more of fan camaraderie behind us, I hope) and welcome him home in similar ways that we bid him adieu.

I am in awe of the last few months. I finally figured out why I am such a fan. David follows his heart where ever that leads him. When I think about the courage it took to make this move, it leaves me inspired. I also decided that David’s muse, his inspiration, is where his heart leads. So after 4+ years wondering why me on this epic fan journey, I have my answer, inspiration….follow my heart. Simple concept yet hard to do.
TOfan you too are an inspiration and thanks for this touchstone in the fan world that you have created. Love ya!!!!

Kizzi….you said it perfectly!! Many of us have wondered how we got so involved with this amazing young man from Utah….it’s because he inspires us to be so much more than we could ever believe we could be (if that makes sense)!! Not many have this gift and I’m so happy for him for following this path to inspire many more….he truly is an Angel ❤

I was holding it together pretty well this morning but as soon as I saw D. posted his vlog I truly did feel ill so I wasn’t lying when I told my boss I was heading home. 😦
Just watched it … yes, def. made the right move not watching it at work! … still a little too not over it… but I admire him so much for both sharing so much with us and also asking that we respect those parts of his life that are his alone. … “Inspiration” — yes, we use that word a lot with David but he keeps doing it! lol

Just want to thank you so much for reading our/my bittersweet feelings so well. The combination of the we will wait forevermore/rain puddle gifs, rainbow song , Thank You and #DA 2014 “I’ll be back” pics is just the right emotional mix for today. Not even gonna mention the vlog too much…his whole heart just comes through.

Another thing that struck me when I came here earlier, is David up there to the right in his Bunny suit, Waving at us.
A piece of info that warmed my heart is that the Missionaries go to the General Conference which happens to be this weekend in Salt Lake City and The Missionaries sing as a Choir. Tawna had posted a picture of Missionaries singing on The Voice. What a great time to start a Mission. Know that David loves the General Conference.

I just knew he’d give us a vlog, but not going to lie that it hit me hard hearing his last words to us and seeing how sober he was. Him asking for respect to his time with God and those he will be serving on this mission had me in tears. He is just so precious. And the picture!!! That put the biggest smile on my face. He loves us just as much as we love him. 🙂 I’m sure that our emotions will be on and off for the next little while, but so glad we have our fan family to get through the tough times.
Going to miss those tweets, but I’m ready to give him his space. Godspeed David. We will be here for you keeping the home fires burning and doing all we can to keep your name out there and waiting for your return.

@kariontour: yes, he did. Ivory gave him a list and suggestions but it was D who had the finale say. Like Rainbow was never on any list but our driver Sherwin had a remix we played over and over again so he wanted that song on the album. The Nandito Ako crew help too. We played songs for them to get input from.

I am not understanding at all the ANGST that seems to be felt by everyone… I feel for you I really do but for me – Plain and Simple I am HAPPY for David –
Perhaps I have learned from him how to ‘depend on myself’ and have SOOO much to keep me uplifted until he comes back – and more to look forward to as well…
I’d still like to be part of ‘the group hug’… maybe I can impart to you guys some of the peace I feel right now.
Me too Awestruck but I haven’t said directly that I am not at all sad. I am happy for D. That is my prevailing sentiment. Happy, excited, joyful that he is doing what he wants to do. I often wonder how confining “celebrity” status must be. A new found freedom for him plus pursuing his heart’s desire. And Hugs to you, solo or group. 😀
I wrote on another site that since I saw D’s last vlog, I’ve been reminded of a quote that I’ve pretty much memorized:
We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.
So David is now silent to us so he can touch other souls, that is what his heart desires, not through music, but in a different format. His journey to a closer relationship with the Divine. That is a pretty joyful, celebratory even, path.

that’s awesome that you’re at peace, awestruck… I’m also happy for David, but simultaneously missing him like crazy that’s all … I haven’t actually seen any angst anywhere, not that I’ve looked around, haha, sorry to hear that. I’ve just seen peeps missing that bright light that he brings wherever he goes. I’m happy to share though so others get to bask in it for the next two years. ((((hugs)))
Aw, thanks awestruck, I am in a peaceful place too and happy for David. He is doing something that comes from deep within his heart, a courageous, dedicated and amazing young man. Will definitely miss him though, a lot. Will just have to get used to not seeing his regular sweet tweets, blogs, etc. and if folks have angst over this I think it is understandable but I guess we really only have ourselves to blame for that….we invested so much heart and time and energy into all things David, LoL.
This is about David’s very personal time though and I respect and give him that with all my heart and yes….he has left us with so much!
Just looking at that incredibly sweet picture of David with the #DA2014 sign puts a smile on my face.

Dropping by to say hello. I’m enjoying all of the comments. Love that some are already finding a peace (if they didn’t feel it after the announcement.) I’m in a good place — staying very busy and that feels good. Anticipation is such a happy state and we have so much to look forward to as David’s fans.
Kizzi….ditto to your lovely words and love that beautiful quote, so true and this will be true for David I’m sure.
I just hope his ‘celeb’ status doesn’t hinder in any way what he seeks out to do. I’m sure all that has been considered however and the best possible circumstances and location have been arranged for dear David.

I’m hoping next week when the missionaries who entered this week write their first letters home that we get lots of stories about “I was in Spanish class with Elder Archuleta and he can speak it better than our teacher,” or “I was standing behind Elder Archuleta in the line for breakfast and he let me go first cuz he couldn’t decide if he wanted Honey Bunches of Oats or Kashi cereal” or “Orange Juice or Water” or “at lunch………..Pad Thai or Honduran food” or “I don’t know how Elder Archuleta is so small………..the boy can EAT…….maybe he exercises in the middle of the night” or “It’s not FAIR!!! Elder Archuleta gets 25 hours everyday, when I only get 24……..note to self: pray more” etc etc etc.

joujou, I actually did see a tweet from a guy yesterday who said he was in D’s Spanish class at the MTC, which seemed strange considering I thought they weren’t allowed to tweet from there, lol. … as much as I miss D., I’m hoping his missionary life isn’t leaked out like that (but that’s human nature I guess)… would be nice if he had some time and space for himself there, esp. since he’s given so much of himself over the past 4 years.

I join you, TOFan, in your wish that information wouldn’t leak, but the ship seems to be spouting all sorts of holes as I type this. I have to believe, however, that David and the people who organize the missions must have been aware of this great possibility and made provisions. There are plenty of places where he could serve without distraction. Or I hope and pray so.
Nice to have gotten today’s tweet. I don’t care at all if it comes through Kari. I mean, it goes from him through the internet, anyway, so Kari is just one more step. I hope he knows he doesn’t have to keep in constant contact, though.

My very favorite is the ‘excuse me, I just need a moment…picture ‘ coz you are singing my song. I’ve been moping too much, I’m afraid. Anyway, I set the picture up for my desktop background but neither the moving raindrops or verbiage transferred. I can’t figure out how to put the wording across the top of the screen and am totally clueless as to how to incorporate the movement. Would you consider doing it for us know-nothings or instructing me how I might?
Also, gotta say–the script leaks were stellar!!! Loved each and every one. Thanks for doing them!
bookaholic, whenever you change the size of a gif (the file with movement), it stops moving. But if you just right click on it and download at the size it is there, the raindrops should stay. The words are mine, not part of the gif itself so I’m not sure how you can do that. Does this help at all? I hope so. ((((hugs))))
