The Josh Factor

So has anyone else noticed something “different” about David?? That he’s … idek … in a Good Place?

Has the inner exploration required to express the deepest feelings of his character, Josh, brought David to a whole new level of artistic amazingness? Maybe we’ll need two years to deal? Whatever it is, bring. it. on.

In the meantime, here are my fave highlights from the past couple of days. What do you guys think?

“But what really made it great was that I started to get out of my comfort zone, including trying more food and being more adventurous. Everyone was supportive and the TV5 management was just so easy to work with. (The experience) has made me more mature. This isn’t something that I would normally do but I was willing to take on the challenge. I just had time enough before I go on with missionary work for a couple of years. It’s been exciting and it just taught me a lot about myself as a person. It’s so weird because I didn’t expect that at all.”

David sings “Nandito Ako” at the TV5 press conference … LOVE this version… esp. when he turns to serenade the whole cast near the end. *melts*

Yes, Tofan. Comfortable in his own skin is what I believe is occurring. Very exciting for him. His music and singing has always spoke of a maturity beyond years, an old soul that communes with the mysteries of life. His years lived, his social self, has been peppered with the awkward, the “I am finding out who I am” element.

Exciting to see someone grow into their greatness. That can only impact his music, his singing, his artistry in powerful ways.

How’d you get to be so smart?!!!! 😀 😀 😀

  2. The amazing confidence soar that we saw early Dec at Westbury has taken a comet’s ride to the statosphere in the last 3 weeks. This man doesn’t even resemble the guy we saw on his first solo tour. The best part is how good he seems to feel about himself. I applaud his courage, his heart and his unending talent. Lucky us.

  3. Kizzi says:

Oh, and David with his arms around his two co-stars in the InterAkyson pic…his hands are now in proportion with the activity, like that is one of the ways of how they should be seen…just sayin’ 😉

Thanks TOfan and so agree with the above wonderful comments. I am still so full of pride for David, seems he is unleashing all that is meant to be shared within him. He really loved this acting experience and there will be more in the future I’m sure, not to mention what his glorious music will bring.
So much to view, hear lately, fantastic! Nandito Ako keeps playing in my head, just one of the most beautiful things I have heard! Yes, a new found confidence is appearing and David seems so happy and comfortable with it all. I’m not surprised he has discovered a lot about himself during this experience and it’s all wonderful!
Watched the Ustream of his signing last night from Singapore and when he told the fans he would record music for them to hear while he’s away, try and get updates to them and then sang the line
“even though you’re gone I can hear your heart”……aww, just made my heart smile.
I am still amazed at David learning Tagalog so quickly (it seems) and delivering that beautiful song.
My wish…..when David returns after two years, at some point he will come to Canada and sing for us…..in Canadian. 🙂
“Magandang araw sa iyo.” Have a good day folks!

I really see a lot of growth in David and his confidence. Yes David with his arms around his two co-stars is so nice. David is singing so beautifully and so heartfelt and it is beyond amazing how much he was able to give in Singapore after such a grueling schedule.

I was just over at FOD and Joanie/Suttygal had added that she was needing a “Silent Night” and posted the interview David had in SLC the day before his SLC MKOC concert. It was such a spiritual experience to be able to listen to David answer the Gentleman’s questions again with the benifit of hindsight and hear Los Pastores and Silent Night from Motab. She also added the video of “I’m Trying To Be Like Jesus” that we witnessed in BC.

So much has happened since then and yet it was nice to take a step back while we look forward in order to enjoy the transformation as well.

Yes, David seems to always be growing and maturing no matter what he does. Can’t even imagine how much he’ll have grown after his mission! I don’t think any of us will be ready for it!

Also trying to catch up from this weekend… where the heck did that gif in the sidebar come from?!?!?!

    • TOfan says:

It came from the full Nandito Ako trailer! 🙂

k so I went back to comments of the last post and found where everyone else was freaking out about this. But I am late and will continue to freak out here:

        !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously this is going to be the absolute cheesiest show… I am SOOOOOO excited!

Hand holding, crying, hugging, punching, more crying, face touching, bunny suit stealing, more crying, …getting kicked out of a girl’s bedroom?!

But like actually, at least one person was crying throughout like the entire 6 minute trailer! lolol amazing!

        Okay I am done now.

Love this interview in the Manila Bulletin HERE … fave bits:
“It was hard to get comfortable being open and emotional in front of others at first… but whether it’s being happy or angry or sad, you couldn’t hold back or else you wouldn’t give something to the audience and they wouldn’t feel the story,” he related.

He noted his co-star Ana Feleo, his acting coach, as “the one who really made the magic happen for me in coming out of my shell… and to be able to jump into the scene and be not afraid to let go.”

As he shifts to a new chapter in his life—a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—Archuleta vowed to make his presence felt by his fans through the songs, which would be released while he’s away. He will resume recording as soon as he returns to the US.

“I don’t wanna leave my fans with nothing. I feel like that will be so disrespectful after everything they’ve done to support me,” he maintained.

and this interview — “David Archuleta leaves music industry to be missionary” with Yahoo Singapore HERE.

“My family was very surprised and made sure I thought about this thoroughly. My mum taught me to follow my heart and I did,” he grinned.

“My fans are mixed about it though. They don’t want me to go but it’s cool to see how supportive they have been and the respect they have shown towards my decision,” he said earnestly… “Even though I cannot perform while I am gone, I am still going to record music before I leave,” he said.

“I am not going to leave my fans empty handed. I am not sure what the rules are going to be like but I will update my fans with a quick email or video whenever time permits,” he added.
