“Deep inside I feel that this world we live in is really a big huge monumental symphonic orchestra. I believe that in its primordial form, all of creation is sound. And that it’s not just random sound. That it’s music.”
~ Michael Jackson
In Doc Naree’s epic (and eagerly anticipated 🙂 ) interview, David Archuleta talked about how, many years ago, his voice coach arranged for him to speak with Michael Jackson, and sing for him a little, over the phone. He also hinted that he’s been practicing an M.J. song to possibly perform at some point. (That sound you hear? Heart falls out. Mine.)
P.S. LDS Living photogallery HERE (incl. pics below, thx. @suttygal!!!)
Would love to hear David cover a MJ song! Would be epic. There are so many songs that David could cover and do them well but as far as the vote goes, gave my vote to Man In The Mirror, mainly because it is one of my absolute faves of MJ’s and I know it is one of David’s faves too. I could think of many however that he could add his gorgeous voice and style too. Hope it happens!
and this…..” (That sound you hear? Heart falls out. Mine.) ” Haha, I understand.
First, gotta say how much I luuurve piano man David pic!!! And glowy face David….aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh….

Hi refnaf —
even got to see him live twice back in the day
Me.too! Victory Tour 1984… in my hometown, and then again in TORONTO!!
In COS on page 243, David mentions “Black or White” and “Man in the Mirror” as two of his favorite MJ songs.
We could be hearing one of these or both or a mash-up or medley or who knows?
David will surprise and amaze us! He’s a “Thriller!!”
Woot!!! Victory Tour!!! Yes!! I went to Buffalo and Toronto shows!!! crazy that we were in the same crowd!!! 🙂
refnaf, wow, you got to see M.J. live??? *jellus* I’d actually love to hear D. sing Billie Jean but can’t quite picture that somehow, lol.
…just saw this on twitter… signage at the Nokia … not sure if it’s real or photoshopped, lol
David Archuleta Tells How to Get Glad Christmas Tidings from iTunes
“And if you don’t know how to use iTunes find the closest teenager, they’ll probably know how to (with matching attempt to whisper) ”
Bahahahahahahahaha! Been cracking up for some time now… ahahahahaha…
thx. JR! LOLOL … the way he leans in at the end like “don’t be embarrassed if you’re, um, old” *dies 😆 😆 😆
This is soooo cute!!! Thanks JR
Okay I did a little research and have come up with an MJ song for David to sing. While I’d love to hear him sing “Billy Jean”, too, TOfan, or “Rock With You” or “The Way You Make Me Feel” somehow I don’t think David would cover those. I think he’d do a great duet of “Black or White” with Bruno Mars. The song I think he would sing, because he loves a message song and because he likes to cover songs that weren’t the “biggest” hits by other artists is “Heal the World. But I would take any or all of the above! LOL
Oh, yeah, I forgot. If we’re doing Paul McCartney next, I already have that one picked out … “Maybe I’m Amazed”. 🙂
Uh, what happened. I decided to add another comment & after I did a whole bunch of “poppies???” popped up! Did I do that or did you do that? I’m magic!!!
bleubird19, hahaha, the poppies have been there since our Remembrance Day, Nov. 11th, lol … but you could also be magic! 🙂
So far, Man in the Mirror & I’ll Be There are neck & neck in the poll! He could always do both. 😆
Love this twitpic from @PrincessArchie… David in the 4 “Best-seller” spots at Deseret Books:
Video of TBWY from the Pandora skating show … at least you can hear him, lol:
aww, David’s message to Archuleta Philippines about the GCT launch in Manila!
Great blog post HERE from Jamie Lawson, the LDS Living managing editor who interviewed David for their cover story:
“I have no doubt we will see great things from David in the future. One of the projects he hopes to complete soon, although there are no solid plans yet, is a Latin album in honor of his Hispanic roots (his mother, Lupe, is from Honduras). He also has a few surprises in store—whether in his personal life or professional life, he wouldn’t say, but it’s clear to me that David knows his own path, regardless of what anyone else has to say about it.
🙂 🙂 🙂
I put the Spanish album in the same category as coming to Canada. Something he’d ideally like to do, but don’t really see it actually happening (for a while anyways)
“it’s clear to me that David knows his own path, regardless of what anyone else has to say about it.” Love it!
hate to say this, but I think we’ll see a Spanish album before we see him do a show here 😦 On the bright side, I was checking to see if GCT was back on iTunes Canada (it is!) & I noticed the CFTH album ranks in the top 200 holiday CDs there.
or maybe that’d get him a slot in Harbourfront’s annual LatinFest, lol
Probably true, but I don’t think his next album will be a Spanish one (career-wise that doesn’t make sense to me… although I’m obviously no expert), so it would have to be the one after that at the earliest. And I don’t really see any albums coming out soon at all, so it would definitely be a while before a Spanish album I think. And I think I might be a tad more hopefully optimistic than you about him coming up to Canada. Haha 🙂
And remember that Child Fund International PSA David filmed a while back? Guess it was for this:
I know Bruce Springsteen, among others, chooses local charities on his tour stops to support, such a great idea, especially for a holiday tour.
Check out the mega-interviewing David has coming up, woooot! http://davidarchuleta.com/home/?page_id=2523
Just FYI, I emailed ChildFund Int’l asking about Canadian donations, and this was their response:
“Thank you for contacting ChildFund International.
Since you reside in Canada, we wanted to point out that we have an affiliated office in Ontario. Sponsoring a needy child through this office will entitle you to any Canadian tax breaks allowed and you can make your donations in Canadian dollars.
The agency is called Christian Children’s Fund of Canada. Their website is http://www.ccfcanada.ca and their toll free telephone number is 1.800.263-5437.
…aaand @PlatinumArchie kindly posted her Pandora Skating photos on FB HERE.
New sort-of post.
