This is the face, the person, the Voice, that many of us first encountered 2+ years ago and have since journeyed with, from the AI tour of 2008 and the Jingle things to the first solo tour, the Demi tour and the Christmas tour. Following David over the past two years has brought me nothing but Joy! His voice soothes me, his smiling face warms my heart, his strength and character inspire me daily. We now rest (kinda) in a place of expectancy as we await the new music and book release.
We’ve had time to prepare for these releases. The throngs of new fans that David’s next single, CD and tour will inevitably bring will be starting from scratch. They’ll need our help to get them up to ArchuSpeed.
Rookie Archies like the ones who left these YouTube comments on David’s Idol Imagine performance last week:
abeleejames It’s weird that American Idol invited a guest singer who can actually sing. He_ is still a teenager, but the quality of the voice and singing abilities are head and shoulders above any singers. I heard Josh Groban singing Imagine. I love Josh Groban, but his performance didn’t move me as much as this guy did. This guy’s voice has lots of soul and earnestness.

For these newbies — who either saw the “light” of David singing “Imagine’ 3.0 and are saying, “What just happened?” or are soon to — we SnowAngelz felt it might be helpful to put together the Ultimate Archuleta List, the “Coles Notes” for a crash course in David 101. In other words, the essential David videos, interviews, performances that will help new fans catch up! We need your help … tell us what have been your top David moments?
This is one of mine. When these videos started coming in on YouTube two years ago, I knew I had to get to the Idol tour to see him live … even though it was during my family’s summer vacation! It was something I had to do, and I have never regretted it!

Thanks for this post….chills baby…chills! It doesn’t matter how many times I watch it David singing ‘When you Say you Love me” brings chills and tears! There are so many special moments to recall over the past 2 years, and if I had to pick one from the beginning, it would have to be the first time I saw David live, as he emerged from the stage seated at the piano singing Angels. It was an out of body experience! More recently I would have to say his performance of Ave Maria at the one and only Christmas concert I attended tops the list! I wish I could post these, but my skillzzzz are lacking in that department, ugh.

I wouldn’t trade the past two David Years for anything, but I envy his brand new fans a little bit because I remember that Gold Rush of excitement at discovering David’s music and wonderfulness for the first time. That WYSYLM is stunning … you’re so right KH, never did weeping feel so good!

Love this post, Refnaf. And, I often go back to the “Heaven” audition that started it all for me. As for a favored video? Too numerous to just pinpoint one… but I would have to say you must include this one in David 101.
The Tulsa “Angels” is all beauty and power! In the beginning there is such an excited anticipation as David rises to the stage. Then he literally belts out a performance like none other and in a way that hasn’t been repeated. The bouncing nearly takes him to flight!! An angel indeed. I’m overcome with joy for this young man every time I see this.
In fact, I’m so in love with the bouncing, I even imagined it in parts of his latest performance on American Idol. Although his song was sublime, I could vision David bouncing, well, ever so slight a bounce, when she sang the li
Also, I absolutely love whenever he accompanies himself on the piano. His original “A Thousand Miles” definitely needs to be included. David’s hands at the keyboard are just as expressive and perfect as his voice!

WYSYLM…That is the ultimate song for me…his intensity, his love and passion and beautiful smiles mid song… This is the singing that puts him way up in the clouds beyond anyone else…IMO…;)

two plus years stuffed with memories that have changed my life. I won’t even go into the ones on video or tv, but there are just as many in the 17 times I’ve seen him in person. A few treasures in my life: meeting him the first time at a Jingle Ball and getting the mesmerizing Archulamps full force. Traveling across the country for his solo at Del Mar and standing w/ fan-friends in awe of his performance. Being in or near front row for many concerts and watching him evolve as a performer. Feeling his joy at the tiny PC Richards concert where he could get more intimate with his audience. Hugging him at Westbury and telling him to go write great music and that we would all be here when he gets back. And so here we are… waiting for him. I can say with all honesty that I’m a happier person because of his example and his gifts to all of us. The best part is that he is aware of his effects and he includes us in his growth and journey.
This is so much fun – all the memories.

Love everyone’s “essential David” moments … many of them echo my own. Since we seem to have the ballads well covered, I’ll add this vid of ZG from the last stop on the solo tour (SLC, and not just because I was blessed to be there! 🙂 ). The video’s a little shaky at first but I think it captures some of the electric feel of being at a David concert.
I had trouble deciding on which ZG vid to use and it was interesting to go back to the performances at the beginning of the tour. David gripped the mike stand throughout ZG for the first one in Virginia Beach, then show by show grew leaps and bounds … literally! LOL

Whenever David does something new – a vlog, interview, photoshoot, etc. – I always get hyper-excited about it, because each time he surprises me. He always reveals a new side of himself, and I think that is one of the things that keeps fans on their toes – ’cause you just know there’s always something to be excited about.
Anyway, here’s one of my favorite videos, which I’ve shown to emphasize David’s talent to people who don’t know David.

This is one of my fave vids that shows David’s ability to sing something off the cuff, acapella and (no surprise to us) he knocks it outa the park… you have to get past the screamers in the first few seconds, but worth it>

Haven’t commented for a while so decided to drop in for a second to say hello and to thank you for the wonderful articles and comments here at Snow Angelz. You cannot know how much you have lifted my spirits over the past few months during some difficult personal times. I wish I had more time to interact with everyone rather than just read (and I read here several times a day) but that is just the way it is for me right now.
